Hello Friday!
I woke up this morning to the sound of seagulls squawking outside, deer in the backyard and the unequivocal feeling that I should be outside soaking it all in rather than inside writing. So I decided to take the morning off and post this weeks highlights one day early instead.
It kind of makes me feel like I’m ditching school… but hey, sometimes we need to do that.
On the list for this weekend:
- Go kayaking with Lucy {I took her out yesterday and she had so much fun!}
- Go for ice cream on the dinghy
- Paint the craft room… white 😉
- Dye a bundle or two of wool
- Fire up the kiln
- Watch Sweet Home Alabama
- Clean up the house… we have guests coming!
- Start Finding Freedom on audiobook
- And last but not least… pull a few weeds
Here’s to a happy, slow and relaxing weekend,
~Mavis
Highlights from this past week:
- Hedgerow Market – Martinsville, Maine
- Gardening in Mid Coast Maine – Planting Zone 6a – Poppies, Lupine, Sunflowers and More!
- Pancakes
- How Much We Spent Groceries and Meals We Ate Week 23 of 52

Watch out for those deer…they might be checking out your garden and plants around the house. Enjoy your weekend…you deserve it!

what are those things stacked on top of each other?

I think they are crab shells

Such a lovely photo of you and Lucy on the water. The water is a beautiful shade. I was so fascinated by the changes in tides when I visited Maine, compared to our tide differences here in the Outer Banks. Our high and low tides only vary by a foot or two, compared to you barely having water at low tide. How deep does your bay get with high tide? How deep was the water in this picture? Inquiring minds want to know! Thanks for always taking us along for your adventures Mavis!

I thought that might be what they were.

Hmmm……I am wondering if the craft room is the same as the wool dying space in the basement…………………..time will tell……………My curiosity keeps me coming back…………..love all the progress you are making……………..and that you are taking time to “play.”

When my son went to prom right after Sweet Home Alabama came out she was in love with the movie and the truck he drove. My son was able to borrow a blue truck like the one on the movie to take her to prom. She was thrilled

Finding Freebies??? Really??? Don’t waste your time! She comes across like such a Mary Sue. Everybody hates her because she is more perfect, more beautiful, more talented, etc, etc. And it’s all the fault of her wicked brother and sister in law. The bit about the perfect yoga pose with the bird feathers and her peeing in the woods (insert throwing up emoji here).
Here are some REALLY good reads…The Kitchen Front, The Henna Artist, The Things We Cannot Say (this one had me crying my eyes out), The Sisters Weiss, Paris Letters, I Capture the Castle, and The Scent of Water.

Gorgeous photo of you and Lucy in the kayak. Is this taken on your husband’s drone? Your scenery is amazing!
