Hello Saturday!
The day before yesterday I got a mosquito bite on the side of my face and eye and face are still swollen. Bites don’t seem to bother the HH, but me? Forget about it. I swell up something fierce and nothing seems to help. 🙁
On the agenda for today:
- Plant sweet potato slips, corn and squash {after the HH tills up the last bit of garden space}
- Continue working on the rug I started yesterday {I’m hoping to finish by Monday evening}
- Laundry {it’s a perfect day to use the clothesline}
- Figure out linner
- Go to bed early
How about YOU? What are YOUR plans for today? Anything exciting?

Going to take my mom and sister to visit my daughter’s wedding venue. Looking forward to fun day out with them.

It looks like the same Etsy shop has lobster sandals, which seems like a necessity if you live in Maine.
Today I’m going to order the last of the baby gear and hopefully put up some wall decals. If it’s not too hot, we might also go for a walk.

So excited for you Mel! 🙂

For today:
1) laundry
2) take photos of new items and list on Etsy
3) plant sunflower seeds
4) continue decluttering project (Craft room is done!)
5) make hamburgers for dinner
Carol says
Rosemary anti-oxidant (Mountainrose Herbs) is something that I discovered
works for swelling from bites and stings.

Those sandals—haha! Hope your mosquito bite feels better soon! If it’s itchy, Witch Hazel is very soothing if you have any around. I believe a baking soda paste is also helpful with bug bites. Thought I’d offer those ideas in case you hadn’t tried them yet.
Mavis Butterfield says
Ahh yes! The baking soda paste trick. I forgot about that one. Thanks Katie.

I am planting a random envelope of hollyhock seeds (black, I think?) I found while cleaning the utility room last week, picking up and planting starts from our local Monarch Alliance native plant sale, weeding, more weeding, weed whacking, and reinstalling hardware in the bathroom! Oh, and I need to mow the lawn…

–went on a 3-mile run/walk
–used a gift card to pick up designer donuts
–right now surfing the net, warming up (was out in rain for my run) with personal heater and watching brain candy tv show
planning:
–spend an hour packing up my classroom for summer
–drop by Goodwill to see if they have any clothes I “need” (going on cruise and could use some shorts and light cardigans)
–pay bills
–mail out some wedding/grad gifts
–read, read, read

We are removing the lower branches on the juniper trees on our acreage for fire safety. Here in central Oregon we are in the extreme drought area and are encouraged to make our properties somewhat fire safe, especially near our homes and outbuildings. Delimbing is a lot of work, as is hauling load after load to the landfill to take advantage of the last day of free debris dumping. It has been raining here and we want to get our garden planted, so that will be next for us. Have been holding back due to some frost mornings and the threat of hail storms.

Try dabbing vinegar on fresh mosquito bites to neutralize their saliva before the bite closes. It helps!

Just wondering how two people can use so many tomatoes? Will you put a stand at the end of your driveway? Just curious. Love the information I learn from yoh. Have a great weekend.

Sure it was not a black fly bite? It’s the season……
Cheryl says
Afterbite should work on your bug bites. I swell up something fierce from sweat fly bites (the ugly fly with the speckled wings that hangs around water). You can usually get it a dollar store or a drug store or even on amazon.
