I’m catching up on housework and meal prep since I go back to the office on Monday. I’m kind of burned out in general these days from work and everything else going on, but I haven’t been in my office since March 2020, so I am looking forward to that part. I guess I also need to start looking for the keys to my office.

I searched the internet for you this morning as your page seems to have disappeared from FB.
No peaches in my neighborhood, but I’ll be picking mulberries today and making pie and or jam.

First off, I just have to say that you get some of the most delightful photos of Miss Lucy!
I’m going to work on my fall garden today and do an extra water as another heat advisory is out.
After that it will be all about keeping the house cool for the furbabies.
Have a great weekend!

I have a list of things I was going to do today, but that all got changed when my husband got attacked by yellow jackets and needed a trip to urgent care. Thankfully, he is ok and didn’t have a life-threatening reaction, but he did need to go to the doctor and of course that takes time. Now that we’re home I think I’m going to jump back to my to do list!

prepping for the week ahead as we all seem to do on the weekend. (“What is a weekend?” favorite quote from Downton Abbey!
to do today:
– massive grocery shop for the week including preparing for a vegan house guest-trying some new recipes
– water the garden
– deadhead flowers
– give away massive zucchinis that were hiding under leaves and are now baseball bats!
– attend neighborhood bbq
– take dog for run/walk or hike

Hi! I just looked at the peach jam recipe. It says to add pectin to the peaches and then bring it to a boil. Maybe I am missing something….that seems like it would burn. Do you add any water to the peaches, or does enough liquid just come out of the fruit to boil? It looks super yummy! I have a big box of peaches right now, so I’m anxious to give it a try! Thanks so much!
Mavis Butterfield says
You do not add water. 🙂

I have tried several times but I can’t print the peach and almond cream tart. Is the link broken?
Mavis Butterfield says
Thanks for letting me know you were having a problem. I just fixed it and it’s to print now. 🙂
