Quote of the Day “The flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long.” Lao-tzu
Guess who I caught yesterday in Monkey Boy’s room with her head in a Cheetos bag? Yep. You guessed it, Lucy the trouble Puggle. I think she was a little mad at me for taking the bag away too. Ha! Poor puggles.
Partly cloudy skies and a high of 75 is in the forecast for today. What’s the weather like in your neck of the woods? I’d love to know.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone, stay out of trouble. 😉
♥ Mavis

Good Morning Mavis,
Our cooler than normal summer continues here on the east coast. Today’s high will be in the 70’s and the night time temperature in the 40’s – not good for plants in the garden. I’m hoping we warm up some, but extended forecast doesn’t indicate that.
An absolutely beautiful morning for our 2 mile walk. The dogs are tired, and so am I, but I have much to accomplish today.

It is supposed to be another day in the low 90’s here in Southern Idaho, warming to 100 by first of the week. I’m ready for some 80’s!!!!

I’m in Houston, TX, visiting my son and daughter in law. We’re getting ready for hurricane Harvey. Raining right now. Flooding into next week.
I’m just glad to be here to help out.
Anyone wanna come help with the clean up?
Katy says
Exactly the same forecast for today here in North Wales, PA.
I’ll take it, it feels GREAT!
Judy Bee says
Weather? We anticipate 24-35 inches of rain over the next 5 days and I’m thankful we aren’t getting the direct hit from Hurricane Harvey. Prayers for those who cannot or have not been able to prepare. Since Houston is flat and has a lot of concrete the waterways will overflow and some homes will flood. The last major US hurricane was 12 years ago – Katerina. Many have moved here and don’t know how to prepare so we will be looking for those we can help when we can get out after the water recedes
Katrina says
I live in the inland empire of California and we are going on a excessive heat watch for the coming week. Temperatures are suppose to be 109 on Monday then a little lower rest of week. We’ve had a nice reprieve from the heat for the last two weeks but it’s coming back with a vengence ! Too hot for me. Maybe a trip to Seattle to visit the kids is in order.
Suzy says
The emergency animal clinic and surgery center where we take our dogs told us there have been several dog deaths due to chip bags. It happens quickly. The dog gets their head in, sucks in, and the bag collapses around their head and suffocates them. Apparently the Mylar type bags are the worst.
Stacey says
Yes, I’ve heard of many, many dogs suffocating in chip bags. I have become very paranoid about making sure no one leaves a chip (or similar) bag where our pets can have access. So sad.

106 in the shade…. If you are out in sun feels like 118.
Couple more months and my garden will be up and going again….. Can’t wait!
