Hello thursday! Let’s get this day over with…. I can feel my cold coming back and I’m not excited about it. 🙁

On the agenda for today:

  • Make chicken soup
  • Snuggle with the puggle
  • Drink lot’s of warm tea. Maybe even some cocoa
  • Bake some biscotti
  • Clear off the kitchen counters
  • Go to bed early

    I am so sorry you think your cold may be coming back. I never get sick, but this year I caught a cold that lasted almost 2 weeks! I was so relieved when it was gone. I felt it coming back a week or so later and tried a trick I had read about. I put Vick’s VapoRub on the soles of my feet and then put socks on before I went to bed. The next day my feeling that the cold was returning was gone. I did this two nights in a row to be on the safe side, but it absolutely worked!

    Mavis, get yourself some ColdEez and start sucking on them. Then get yourself a day/night Dayquil/Nyquil combo pack. I started to get a cold last Wednesday, and hubby and I were headed to NYC for the 3-day weekend (without the kids) on Friday morning!!! The zinc helps to shorten and reduce the severity of the cold (although it also knocks out your taste buds for a few hours) and the meds keep the symptoms away so you don’t FEEL like you have a cold. It was a magical combination for me, and by Sunday I didn’t need any more meds. It’s a good idea to have some ColdEez in the cupboard because you’re supposed to start taking them within 24 hours of the first symptoms. GOOD LUCK!!! (And yes, I still love, love, LOVE your blog – I tried to leave a comment on your post at the beginning of the year when you were laying out your plans but it wouldn’t post from my phone)

      Sorry to hear your cold is coming back. I saw you have The Red Door Inn on your reading list. I just finished it a couple weeks ago and it is great! I would definitely recommend it! A nice and heartwarming tale.
