Hello Sunday! The poor HH! He still has a MAJOR cough. I keep telling him to go in and get it checked out because this is the third week in a row he’s been sick {cough, sore throat} but he insists he will be fine. What is it with guys anyway? Why do we have to DRAG them in? What’s up with that?
Well, have a good Sunday. I’ll be here, listening to my husband cough all day. Making chicken soup and pulling weeds in the backyard.

Hi Mavis! Maybe your HH has bronchitis? I had a nasty cough for 3 weeks, and just went into the doc this week. They said they’ve been seeing a lot of it. I live near Oly, so I’d imagine our viruses are pretty similar.

Oregano oil always works for my family. Have the HH take a few drops a couple times a day. Harsh but works!

In Western Washington, Girl Scout Cookie booth sales are from 3/3 to 3/19 this year. I don’t know if pre-sales, where you can order ahead, are over or not. The price this year is $5 / box. (Costs to make have gone up.) I hear the two new cookies this year — S’mores cookies — are very good.

Hi. No advice on HH. It might be bronchitis, as suggested above, but it’s virus season 🙁 I’ve been sick with a killer cold 2 times in 3 weeks now 🙁
But GS cookie season seems to vary regionally! I’m the cookie mom for my troop, and we picked up ours yesterday, sales here (in Northern California) start Wednesday, Feb 1- March 5th. No orders taken in advance, just boxes for sale all over the place.

GS cookies go on sale in February here in Minnesota for $4/box with cookies on hand at time of the sale.
I saw the doctor last week with a 16 day sore throat that just wouldn’t go away. I had other symptoms along the way (body aches/chills/slight cough/achy teeth) but nothing that materialized into anything or even stayed long enough to really be called a symptom of anything. I never felt ill enough to miss work. My doctor figures it is viral but if I still have it in 2 weeks he’ll put me on an antibiotic just to see if there is an underlying infection causing this. I’m happy to say my sore throat is finally gone!!!

A couple years ago my Hubby got sick and it didn’t go away….it ended up with a visit to the ER and a diagnosis of pnuemonia with scarring on his lungs. I say its time for him to go get looked at – good luck!

I read about relieving a bad cough at night by rubbing Vick’s Vapor Rub on the soles of the feet and covering them with socks. I haven’t had the need to try it yet, but I told my cousin about it when her husband was coughing like crazy and couldn’t get any rest. She tried it on him and said it worked! It certainly isn’t a bad dose and is worth trying.
I think for you husband, this may be a reprieve and some help to get some rest, but likely if he can’t shake the cough, he should see a doctor.
Anyway, the Vick’s is worth a try.

I was sick for a month. Flu, strep and bronchitis. Went to urgent care then my naturopath. It just wouldn’t leave, regular medicine, prescription medicine, and natural medicine. I’m just starting to feel better. Many, many, many friends & co-workers were hit exceptionally hard this year. Always better to be on the safe side and see the doctor. But, I can tell you the doctors told me to plan on at least 3 weeks to get over it. Hope he’s feeling better soon!!
