Happy friday everyone, do you have anything special planned for this weekend? I’m hoping to hit up a few garage sales in the area. Last week Lucy the puggle dog and I were on a walk downtown and we came across 2 sales. If you’ve never walked around town carrying a chair for 2 miles you are really misses out. Ha!
Peace Out Girl Scouts, have a great weekend.

Tomorrow (Saturday), I will be going to the local Dogwood Festival … we went last year and had a great time … Hopefully, later on Saturday or sometime Sunday, someone will be coming over to remove a 4 foot deep swimming pool from my yard … it’s for free but the taker has to disassemble it and haul it away … also hoping to get some rototilling done … *sigh* … between the crazy weather and the rototiller availability (it’s a borrow) it has just not been happening … but I am a person who believes there is an answer to everything! LIFE IS GOOD! : )

Have a great weekend Ilona, dogwood trees are beautiful.

I have never carried around a chair, but at least you can stop and rest when you want. An opportunity to make new friends! 🙂

I’ll bet it is a great chair. I love old chairs. The craziest thing I ever bought on a whim, was the oak floor from the entire men’s department at Nordstrom Washington Square, after they opened a new store 2 doors down on the other side of the hall. I knew there was plenty for my house, but i didn’t realize it was 2,000 sf. My floor man sold some for me as he was taking it up, It paid for all of mine plus him hauling it to my house in Vancouver and installing it. DH was out of country on business. He came home and his toilet and everything was out on the lawn as they were installing the new kitchen, family room, living room. As I picked him up in Tacoma and we were driving home, I kept thinking that I needed to mention this. I was within a mile of home when I confessed. If I had discussed it with him before, it would never have happened. Sometimes you just have to take a chance when you find a deal.

Wow, Helen … that was a leap of faith! glad it all turned out … oak flooring, how lovely! Right now I am working on convincing my adult daughter that we NEED a freezer … 98% of the time, I go along with her decisions on things but I don’t think she realizes how helpful a freezer will be … I will can as much as I can but some things just can’t be canned (at least, as far as I am concerned) like eggplant and zucchini parmesan … and I prefer the texture of some things frozen as opposed to canned, i.e.: I freeze bell pepper without even blanching them … they do just fine. And to touch back on your original subject, Mavis, we had a grand time at the Dogwood Festival … spent more money than I had intended, but I am not sorry for anything I got: 6 bars of homemade soap from a local family-run business: orange vanilla, peppermint, 2 lavenders (their lavender is awesome!) and I had my daughter and a friend who went with us choose one each for themselves … I also purchased a book about our town, signed by the author who is a local historian … and I bought a bracelet for my daughter; she almost never completely likes anything, but she was in love with this bracelet made from a spoon; so, I got it for her … picked up some freebies too … today, I am not sure what I will be doing, but I plan to be home all day … might catch up on some sewing: mending and altering.
