Yesterday The Girl, her bff and I attended the Pacific Northwest Scottish Highland Games at the King County fairgrounds in Enumclaw, Washington. Although the pipe bands were super cool, it was all the behind the scenes stuff that caught our eye.
It seemed like everywhere we looked people were getting polished, sewn or cinched up.
I suppose if I wore a corset I’d need a little help too.
Even the people buying kilts got in on the action.
This was our first time at the Pacific Northwest Scottish Highland Games and we really had a good time. It was a very family friendly event with lots to see and do. The bands and the solo acts were fun to listen too and it was great to see so many families dressed up in kilts and getting into the spirit of things.
They even had the Fisher Scone truck there, and yes, the line was huge, as always.
The woman’s throwing events were pretty awesome as well. More exciting than the men’s events I think. Too bad they didn’t have a pie baking contest or something, I’m pretty sure I could have won that. 😉
Ahh and the dancers. So cute! I don’t think I could ever be a judge. Could you?
And then there were the animals in the barn.
How would you like to be a Highland Coo and have this posted outside your stall? 🙁
Luckily the sheep were a little better off. No signage, just a long line of little kiddos wanting to pet it’s soft coat of wool.
How about you? Have you been to any cool festivals this summer? See anything out of the ordinary?
