Pareidolia : the tendency to perceive a specific, often meaningful image in a random or ambiguous visual pattern.
I was unfolding a drop cloth in the garage the other day when I noticed a yellow stain on the canvas. The funny thing is, the last time I used yellow paint, was when I made the sunflower cut out for our front door. But I painted that sunflower down in the basement on a table… not on a drop cloth in the garage.
So how did it get there? Is it a sign? And if so, for what? And just to make sure I’m not crazy… Tell me what you see. I want to make sure what you see, is the same thing I see.
The weekend, ready or not, it’s here.
Have a good one,
~Mavis

A baby chick – white australorp, perhaps. They are really sweet birds, good layers too. They may be a bit broody, though, because of the australorp in them!

Why, of course it is a baby chick. A little, adorable floofer. BUT WAIT! Clearly, someone is trying to STAB the chick with a red, bloody dagger! (Just kidding. But it’s a chick, for sure. I think Lucy was out there paw-painting when you weren’t looking.)

Ok at first glance I saw a baby chick behind a red bamboo stick (I know, bamboo isn’t red…) …but my kids were fooling around and knocked my laptop on to the carpet and it landed one turn counterclockwise…..and then….at first glance it looked like the fleshy head of a bald santa with little beady eyes, a fluffy heard, sitting behind a red horizontal handle bar of his sleigh……
chicks…santas and sleighs-oh my !
all ideas for more hooked rugs/ gifts for the holidays and coming new year?

Clearly you are not nutty…at least about seeing the yellow chick. I concur that you need to make a rug with Lucy and one of her baby chickadees. It would be so sweet.
