The beauty of being a blogger is that I have a platform to share whatever noteworthy topic that pops into my head. Sometimes, the crazy stories I come across on the inter-web or the random thoughts that pop into my mind aren’t really noteworthy at all {on their own}. They usually make me pause, laugh, or just plain roll my eyes and I go on about my day. So, without further ado, here’s this weeks edition of Random Goodness from Around the Web:
That must have been one fine chicken! A paid obituary for Big Mama, a dearly loved 6-year-old Rhode Island Red, appeared in a newspaper based in Bryan, Texas after the chicken died in her sleep at her favorite spot in the chicken coop. I will admit we’ve had a few chickens who were so loved I’d be tempted to do something like this! Big Mama was adopted by her forever family who adored her and helped her “discover how beautiful life could be walking in the grass, being a member of a flock, and having 24-7 love.” How sweet is that.
Sit, Roll Over, and Smell For Bugs
Boston Museum of Fine Arts just hired the most adorable new employee ever: a bug-sniffing dog named Riley! Riley is a Weimaraner puppy who is being trained to sniff out bugs and other critters that could potentially damage valuable artwork at the museum. Their new little four-legged weapon will help combat insects that are an ongoing concern for museums. Sadly, most of his work will be behind the scenes so he won’t often be visible if you visit the museum, but they are thinking of having visiting hours or parading him out from time to time due to his new internet fame!
I Make No Apologies, This Is Me AWESOME!
The Greatest Showman is apparently all the rage these days. I haven’t seen it but I have heard it is amazing and it’s on my list. After watching this video, I can totally see why people are obsessed. You’ll get all the feels. It’s pretty powerful music for being so raw and unedited. I’m loving it!
The Perfect Gift For Your Enemies
If you’re in the market for the perfect gag gift, or if you need to be passive-aggressively mean to someone, consider this 2lb bag of the world’s most hated Starburst color. What’s that saying? Don’t ever let anyone treat you like a yellow Starburst?! {or something like that!} Regardless, I have to admit that I’d laugh if someone sent me these but I just couldn’t bring myself to eat them. What about you? Are you a yellow Starburst lover or a red and pink lover like myself?
And that concludes this installment of Random Goodness from Around the Web. Please make sure to leave your random responses in the comment section.

I’m a citrus lover, so I would welcome yellow starburst. I don’t like the pink or red. I also avoid anything cherry-flavored because I think it tastes like medicine. I think that’s because of cherry-flavored Sucrets from when I was a kid.
AJ says
I agree that “cherry” and “grape” flavors both taste like medicine (and they have no resemblance to real cherries and grapes.) Citrus is the best of the fake fruit flavors! But chocolate is better 😉
Lisa says
Yeah, I can’t do grape either.
Jamie says
Yellow Starburst are the best! Wish they made a grapefruit flavor!
Kelli says
Yellow Starburst are my favorite with orange coming in second. I would be thrilled to get a bag of these! The Greatest Showman is definitely worth seeing, I loved it!
Lauralli says
Yellow is my favorite Starburst too! Yuck on the red! I’d take that bag to see The Greatest Showman! 🙂
Jillbert says
Yellow starburst are my fave. But I get that others do not like them. They boys in my son’s morning car pool saved me all the yellows they got trick-or-treating.
Lisa MTB says
I also prefer orange or lemon Starburst to pink or red. Honestly, though, I never understood why Starburst and Skittles were so popular when I was a kid. I liked Nerds, Jolly Ranchers, any kind of chocolate …
debbie in alaska says
I love yellow, red and orange — my absolute least favorite is pink! Which I think is the total opposite of the rest of humanity. 🙂
Pat says
I am with you 100%!

I haven’t seen The Greatest Showman, and hadn’t really had the urge. But that? Gave me goosebumps. I know what I’ll be doing this weekend, for sure!

I went opening day to the movie. It is so positive and uplifting. If this doesn’t win the Academy Award for best song, I will be upset. Loving my moviepass.com.
Deborah says
I love all the Starburst flavors. Yellow is very good. I can’t chew them like I used to, but let them melt slowly in my mouth. Does anyone remember the Neccos? I love the older candies. Like when I was a child, in the 50s and 60s.
Mavis Butterfield says
LOVE the brown and yellow Necco’s!
Tracy says

We LOVED the Greatest Showman!!! Before movie: hubby says “how did I get talked into seeing a musical??”. After movie: hubby says “We HAVE to go see it again!!”. We’re going this weekend. I bought the soundtrack – it’s amazing!! Mavis, spend the $$ and see it in a theater. Trust me!

I don’t eat Starburst. But, from the comments I see it is citrus. I cannot stand any citrus candy. Even though I am allergic to citrus, I can eat the fruits, just not the candy. I like red flavors and grape.
Fancy, my favorite chicken and a RIR should have had an obituary. She loved me. She came and sat and talked with me. If I talked on the phone while sitting outdoors, she came and talked away.
Cathy harrell says
Yellow, green and orange are my favorites:))
