The beauty of being a blogger is that I have a platform to share whatever noteworthy topic that pops into my head. Sometimes, the crazy stories I come across on the inter-web or the random thoughts that pop into my mind aren’t really noteworthy at all {on their own}. They usually make me pause, laugh, or just plain roll my eyes and I go on about my day.
So, without further ado, here’s this weeks edition of Random Goodness from Around the Web:
Someone accidentally stole a vehicle. How does one accidentally steal a car you might ask? Well it’s kind of a crazy story. A woman had gone to pick up a friend’s red Subaru as a favor and ended up taking the wrong car, also a red Subaru. The stolen car was returned with a note, gas money and an apology!
“Hello, So sorry I stole your car. I sent my friend with my key to pick up my red Subaru at 7802 SE Woodstock and she came back with your car. I did not see the car until this morning and I said, ‘That is not my car.’ There is some cash for gas and I more than apologize for the shock and upset this must have caused you. If you need to speak further, with me, I am ******* and my number is ……….So so sorry for this mistake.”
Crazy, huh? The crazier part. That an old Subaru key would actually start the wrong car!!
You Could Own Your Own Scottish Island
I love Scotland. We’ve been there and totally fell in love with the place. And now, I could buy and entire self-sufficient island in Scotland for a mere 2.3 million. And not just any island. Tanera Mor is the main island of the Summer Isles, a mile and a half off the northwest coast of Scotland near Ullapool.
The island comes with seven miles of rugged cliffs, sheltered coves and beaches, is 1.6 miles long and 1.2 miles wide, has spectacular views and sustains itself with generators and wind turbines for 24-hour electricity; plus, a freshwater treatment works. Who wants to go in and buy an island with me? Or at least help me convince the HH I need it!
People Have Actually Purchased This Ostrich Pillow
So someone invented this and then some company was like, well that weird alien head ostrich pillow thing is a great idea. Let’s make and sell them. And so they did. And people bought them. So they do look comfortable, although they also look like the craziest things I’ve ever seen! Would you wear it?
And that concludes this installment of Random Goodness from Around the Web. Please make sure to leave your random responses in the comment section.

Love Ullapool. I was just there this summer on a hiking holiday with my daughter in honor of her high school graduation. I’ve always thought “summer Isles” was ironic, given the weather there. Still, lovely, and the people are very nice. I expect you’ve read the Hamish Macbeth mysteries by mc Beaton? I believe the fictional village they’re set in is supposed to be located somewhere thereabouts. Very fun, easy reading mysteries.

When I got married I gave my husband an extra copy of my {sedan} car key. He discovered by accident that it worked for his work van. I hadn’t heard of anyting similar untl your post today.

Our neighbor almost stole our van when I was a kid. We lived in apartments and our upstairs neighbor and my mom were best friends. They had the same van except ours was a slightly different shade on the top half. One day the neighbor spent ten minutes trying to get into our van before she figured out it was the right one.
Buying an island sounds amazing. And that seems like a great deal.
I really want that pillow. I get migraines and it would be great for when they hit in the middle of the day and I need to rest at work.

Mavis, I had a very similar “stolen car” story. When I was in high-school (a hundred years ago!) I had a ’64 Chevy Malibu and my best friend had a 65 Pontiac. We were at a meeting after school and wanted to have a snack run so I gave my car keys to another friend who took my car out and back…except when we went outside afterword my friend with the Pontiac couldn’t find her car. Someone had stolen it!!–or not—turns out my key fit her car and the driver miss-took her car for mine, drove and then and parked in a different spot. All was well once we found the other car but sure gave us a fright–then a laugh.

Happened to me, too! I once got into my ’72 red VW bug, buckled up, started the car then realized hey wait, where did that radio come from? Aaaackkk! I quickly jumped back out, locked it up and found my car three cars down, behind a truck.
It also happened to my dad who moved a co-workers car from one bus garage to another and he found out he moved the wrong blue truck! That was an interesting phone call when his buddy called in the middle of the night asking where his truck was. Had to straighten it out with police as the truck had been reported as stolen!

I have an older chevy blazer that’s white. One day a few years ago. I got in after I’d been to a good will and was starting it, when I realilzed there were different items in there that weren’t mine. That scared me so bad. So, recently I came out of Walgreens and went to put something in my car before I went to Safeway. I was standing there turning the key and I realized it wasn’t my car! I really need to pay more attention to the cars.
