The beauty of being a blogger is that I have a platform to share whatever noteworthy topic that pops into my head. Sometimes, the crazy stories I come across on the inter-web or the random thoughts that pop into my mind aren’t really noteworthy at all {on their own}. They usually make me pause, laugh, or just plain roll my eyes and I go on about my day.
So, without further ado, here’s this weeks edition of Random Goodness from Around the Web
Not The Wedding Wisdom I’m Looking For
I can’t you guys. I just can’t. It’s a wedding ring. Made from a wisdom tooth. Like that actual ring will be worn forever and ever on someone’s hand to signify love. What on earth?
I will give them props for most original, but I think the creepiness aspect trumps the creativity. The article says they came up with the idea to use the wisdom tooth together, but the ring design and proposal were kept a secret until he popped the question. Well of course they kept it a secret because otherwise everyone would have told them it falls somewhere between bizarre and just plain disgusting. Bleck. Am I the only one who thinks that’s straight up creepy?
Every Pixar Movie Ranked From Worst to Best
I’m sure this list could be debated and argued and probably has many times, but from the movies I’ve seen on it, it’s spot on. The thing I’ve always loved about Pixar movies is that it’s like a treat for kids and parents. Sometimes sitting through lame animated movies makes me want to pull my hair out {good thing we’re WAY past that stage}, but most of these Pixar movies that fall near the top of the list have not only been enjoyable to watch, but have been some of my very favorite movies ever. Funny and sad and entertaining.
So now I’m curious how you’d rank them. Does this list mimic yours? Are you a big Pixar fan? What’s your favorite Pixar movie ever?
Our Most Precious Possession
He speaks for 30 seconds in a language I don’t understand, but he makes more sense than anything I’ve heard in months. His name is José Mujica and he’s the ex-president of Uruguay. He donated 90% of his salary to charity. He is incredibly wise.
I’ll See Your Horse Head Mask and Raise You One
Remember when those creepy horse head masks were all the rage. Well clearly the poodles felt left out. This takes that creepy mask to a whole new level. I just wonder how people come up with these things. Are they sitting around in a brainstorming session and someone’s all like, “I know what’d be a big hit this year—poodle head masks.” Humans are weirdos I tell ya. Weirdos.
And that concludes this installment of Random Goodness from Around the Web. Please make sure to leave your random responses in the comment section.

Having horrible Lithuanian/Irish teeth, that ring horrifies me. Too much time has been spent in a dentists chair to think anything about teeth is romantic. Bleeeeergh

I peronsonally *LOVE* the tooth ring!
As a physiologist and daughter of a pioneer female surgeon, I think the human body is fascinating and miraculous. My mother left me a small, curated collection of various human bones, which I adored as a child and continue to build to this day. I find that someone giving a literal part of themselves to signify their love and dedication to another to be romantic and unique.
Let’s also mention that not a single child died to procure this ring- not a ONE. No one was tortured or threatened, beaten, raped or kidnapped to make this ring (I think we can safely assume that) as is known to be the case in the VAST majority of worldwide diamond mines. It might not be as eye-catching as a diamond, but at least no one suffered for it or paid for it with their life/lives. That, to me, makes it all the more precious and beautiful.
Also, as you are a woman who generally seems to be a “whatever floats your boat” and “diff’rent strokes for diff’rent folks” kind of woman, I’m a little disappointed to hear you say this couple’s joint decision is “disgusting”!

What the jackrabbit did I just see?!
That said with the dentist bills I have right now, some of my teeth are ending up more valuable than my engagement ring 🙂

I didn’t even get an engagement ring but my teeth are definitely more than my wedding band…. that’s for sure. Ha!

That ring is not my cuppa, but whatever works for the bride… There is a long history of jewelry and art being made from different anatomical parts. The Victorians made lovely art from the hair of deceased or absent loved-ones, including brooches. My hairdresser just the other day said she’s asking for a pendant of a “pearl” filled with her breastmilk for Mother’s Day. We’re a wild and silly species, aren’t we? It would be so boring otherwise.

The tooth ring is just a bit more …um….budget than I’d appreciate. I love the human body and all, but I don’t want to see your Pap smears either! But the dog mask is intended to an Afghan Hound, I believe, not a Poodle?

Love ‘Our most precious possession’.
When my son was small, that’s how I taught him about money. If he wanted something, we figured up how many minutes, hours or days dad had to work to buy it. …..after how many hours he had to work to pay for us to live in our house, buy food, ect. Then we talked about whether or not he’d rather have dad home for that time instead. I think he understood very early & never was a whiner about wanting more stuff….he always seemed to appreciate anything given to him, to the point that when he was in high school he would tell his dad he was being given too much (he has a very generous dad) .
Totally agree with the ring but I hate the hype around weddings & romance too. A friend of mine just got engaged & she was given the most beautiful heirloom ring passed down in her fiancé’s family – that is romantic to me. What’s even more cool….over a year before she was even thinking about marriage, she pinned a ring on Pinterest that she liked. It’s almost exactly the same as the heirloom ring she received, a very unusual setting that you couldn’t buy new today. Her fiancée had never seen the pin either.
