One of my favorite quotes of all time is by Morgan Freeman’s character from the movie The Shawshank Redemption. “Get busy living… Or get busy dying.” Life really is a gift. You can unwrap the box each day and see the beauty inside… or not.
The Girl Who Thinks She’s A Bird and I think it was Martha our sweet…and feisty little Bantam hen.
I started planting my fall crops. Have you?
We spotted blue orchids in the store today and thought they were weird and very unnatural looking. But for some reason… blue hydrangeas seem completely normal.
I found a pair of Uggs at the thrift store for $10. Ten Dollars! What a deal!
If you’re not doing anything between the hours of 7:30am and let’s say 10 am… Please send a few happy thoughts my way. I’m going to need them… I’m off to do something crazy this morning with my friend the trouble maker… And I’ll take all the encouragement I can get. 🙂

WHAT crazy thing, pray tell? You can’t just drop a teaser like that, you know. It’s mean!

Ten bucks?! WOW! I love my Uggs…that’s all I wear in the winter…Uggs in winter, flip flops in summer…not a whole lot in between. Luckily California has two seasons! Cold and hot.
Oh…and Shawshank Redemption is one of my all-time favorite movies. 😉

ROFLOL- My three year old daughter came rushing over when I gasped at the lovely pictures you were posting… and then promptly said when seeing the UGG boots.
“Mom, please get me those boots.”
At least she said please right? Snort.
Did I mention I just love your pictures.

I always thought the first quote was a John Lennon quote from “Beautiful Boy.” Hmm…I’ll have to look that one up–one of my favorites:)
The Shawshank Redemption was filmed at the reformatory about 20 minutes away from our house–great movie and you can do a very cool tour there still.
I heart blue hydrangeas. And your Uggs!! They’ll bring happiness on winter days, for sure:)

What fall crops are you planting? I’ve never done the fall garden, and not sure what works well.

Peas, turnips, beets, radish, and Swiss chard. 🙂
