Quote of the Day “People say I’m extravagant because I want to be surrounded by beauty. But tell me, who wants to be surrounded by garbage?” Imelda Marcos
Yesterday I made the mistake of taking Lucy for a walk while the garbage trucks were out collecting in the neighborhood. She LOVES to watch them roll by and then bark at them when they don’t stop to give her a cookie. In fact she will hunker down low to the ground and WILL NOT BUDGE until the truck has passed by. It’s so weird. Does your dog do this too?
That Lucy, she’s a funny one. 😉
Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone,
♥ Mavis

I made the mistake of rolling in the recycling bin with my pom on a leash in the other hand. He thinks its a big blue monster now and will not walk past it!! Dogs are so funny! Totally off topic here, but have you seen Ruth Goodman’s various historical reality shows? Victorian Farm, Tales from the Green Valley, Edwardian Farm, etc. Several of these have Christmas specials. I was able to find most on them on YouTube in the past. 🙂

Mavis,
Would you consider asking if your readers would consider donating children’s books, toys, crayons, coloring books, games and school supplies for the flood victims? The devastation is sad and there are many children (and parents) who lost everything. Things to keep kids busy will take some pressure off parents who have so much to deal with. Thank you.
Mavis Butterfield says
Judy d you have an address to send them to or an organization requesting these items right now to refer people to?

Joy the Baker had this link on her blog with a list of charities. Catholic relief services seems to be in the trenches there, too….

Thanks Laura Z!

I saw a news clip that says often sending “stuff”, though well intended is not a good way to help at all. It is much, much, much better to make a donation of money. The stuff presents problems with storage, distribution and often is just destroyed or worse causes big problems. People feel that sending money is impersonal, but it is really the best way to help.
Mavis Butterfield says
I think so too. Unless you are there, on the ground and can hand someone/a family with items they specifically need, I think donating money is the best way to help in situations like these.
