With the St. Jude or Bust trip underway, and the prospect of HOURS on the road with my besties {or at least they are BEFORE a 5 day roadtrip, standby, I may change my mind. Ha.} I’ve been looking for a fun way to pass the time and see the sites. I decided to come up with a travel scavenger hunt that we can check off in each city. The catch is that in order to get credit for completing the list, we’ll have to take pictures of ourselves with the object/person. So good-lookin’ cowboys, watch out! You’re on the list, and we’re on our way!
Check back, we’ll keep you posted on our progress throughout the trip…
- Man wearing a cowboy hat {my buddy Lola has a weakness for cowboys–I assume we will not have chance on this one}
- Fried banana sandwich {Do you think they serve them at Graceland?}
- A moon and stars watermelon {I’ve always wanted to try one!}
- Man on a street corner playing the guitar
- Yellow brick road {In honor of Dorothy}.
- A suitcase full of gnomes {okay, I might be setting myself up for success on this one}
- A banjo
- American flag
- Ducks
- Elvis impersonator
- Farmer’s market
- Type of food we’ve NEVER had before
- Sunrise
- Sweet tea {Lola wants to torture me!}
- Red barn {Swoon}
- Greasy spoon diner
- Sunset
- Population sign {Gee, that will be hard!}
- Cut-off jean shorts
- Piggly Wiggly grocery store
- A garden
- A giant jar of pickles
I don’t think in a cross-country road trip these will be too tough to find. Plus, I enjoy making my friends cozy up to strangers and strange things in the name of your enjoyment. Your welcome in advance.

Hmmmm…Piggly Wiggly grocery store. I could be wrong but I think you will have to go further east and almost to the coast. Our son and DIL live in Florence SC and they have one but that is the furthest inland I have seen one for 15 years. If you had said Canadian geese instead of ducks I am sure you would be in luck. Those nasty pooping things are everywhere in the SE. Great list!
