If you’re thinking about raising chickens this year {or already have them} and have been looking for some cute roadside egg stand ideas online… I have another one for you!
As I was driving to Camp Wool the other day, I passed by this adorable pink egg stand. It was so cute that I had to turn the car around so I could backtrack and get some pictures for you!
How cute is this roadside egg stand!? It makes me want to raise chickens again!!! {If only I didn’t have to go outside during the winter months to tend them… I’d totally try and talk the HH into getting them again.}
This egg stand was so well built, I’m surprised they aren’t selling them along with their eggs. I know a couple of people who’d pay a pretty penny for one.
And I love the “sold out” sign too! Oh this roadside egg stand just makes me happy. Maybe I should have a roadside wool stand. Now that would be something!
Have you seen any cute egg stands in your neck of the woods? Or any other kind of unusual sort of stand next to someone’s house? I once saw someone with a stand full of dog leashes in front of their house. Ha!
Maybe this is a Maine thing?
Carry on.

It may well be a Maine thing, Mavis. Here in PA, I’ve never seen eggs for sale in a roadside stand – maybe because there are so many State health laws that the Guvmint would bedevil the seller to death with laws and inspections. However, I rarely travel more than 75 miles from metro Philadelphia. Now veggies in the summertime – yes, but mostly disp!aged on folding tables.

Lots of eggs for sale in Lebanon & Berks co… I think you are to close to Philly 🙂
Better yet, is the home made root beer, and pumpkins. It is amazing what folks sell on the honor system.
All that said, in my my home county (Tioga) , you don’t see those stands for the most part… I think it’s a Mennonite/Amish thing (or the growing season is super short)

There are lots of egg stands in Cumberland county, too. As well as veggies, fresh flowers, and honey.

Here in New York there are a few random stands for eggs, honey and maple syrup. In the summer time you can find a few locals that put out vegetables for sale. That pink egg stand is adorable.

We have roadside stands (at the ends of driveways) for things like eggs, vegetables, maple syrup, or plants where I live in Northwestern Connecticut, but that one you found is pretty amazing. The ones I’ve seen are pretty simple.

There are parts of my county (in Northern Virginia) that are a bit more rural, and there are some roadside stands there. You’ll typically find baked goods, flowers, produce, eggs, jams, and some meat products.

We have roadside egg stands where I live (NE Ohio) … none as adorable as that one, though!! We also have roadside stands fir veggies & maple syrup & flowers.
When we visited MS a few years ago, we saw lots of fresh shrimp for sale in coolers at the end of driveways.
Mavis Butterfield says
Fresh shrimp at the end of a driveway! Now that’s exciting.

Lots of roadside stands in the Willamette Valley (Oregon). During the pandemic (is it over yet?!) a nearby egg stand had a sign with a hen on it and a cloth mask over the hen’s beak.
Torry says
I love the hen with a mask! So cute! I would feel good about stopping there!
Madison says
Could I get a material list for this? I want to build the same thing thank you
Sandy says
I live in the Willamette Valley too and in my area we have them all over the place. Lots of farmers markets too!

I follow a lady on TikTok who lives in Ireland. Where she lives a local egg farmer has egg vending machines in some locations near her. The machine is like a large metal box. It has I think 24 slots(12 stacked on each side) with a door that pops open when you put in your coins. Behind each door is an open egg tray holding 18 eggs. Its cool to see her drive up to a “vending machine” and pop in some coins and get 18 farm fresh eggs. I wish I had something similar nearby!

We saw similar vending machines for milk and eggs in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

In my neck of the PNW we have a neighbor with an egg stand, and blueberries stand — fresh in the summer, frozen available all year

I love our chickens so much. They are more like pets as we don’t butcher them. Just let them live happy lives. Such a cute stand. I’ve thought about selling eggs but I just freeze the excess. I’ve been thinking about preserving them with food grade lime powder. Apparently they can last a year or more that way. A very old way of preservation. Has anyone had any luck with that? I’ve also wanted to ferment other things than just cabbage. I’m always looking to try new things.
Michael Lucas says
You can prolong them by not washing the membrane off the eggs. So Ive been told

I have done this! “Waterglassing” it’s called. The waterglassed eggs are great for baking or for scrambled eggs and omelets. I don’t recommend for fried and definitely don’t recommend for hard boiled, stick with fresh eggs for these 2 things. I researched and tried to hardboil my waterglassed eggs and it simply did not work, the eggs cracked instantly and it was just a fail lol. I’m sure others may have had better luck than I, but I won’t be wasting my eggs anymore attempting haha!

In Alabama we have all sorts of roadside stands, some just a table, and some very fancy, sturdy and with windows that flip up and sometimes a door to walk around inside to shop. There is an adorable stand that sells honey. I shop there. There is a fruit stand every half mile.
I see signs for eggs at the end of long driveways, but I have never ventured up those driveways/roads, so never saw their setup. I especially like the sold out sign so a person doesn’t even need to get out of the car.

I work security at a gated community, and we keep a dog leash, water bowl and dog treats at the guard shack just in case someone ‘s dog gets out and decides to visit us. Also, when residents or guests pass through the security gate, their dog is always offered a treat. Believe me the pets remember and expect it every time!

Just dropping in to say thanks for stopping by my egg stand! A friend shared the link with me! You’ll have to swing by this year again, as I revamped it. I hope to sell more then just eggs ones day. I’m working on bigger stand 🙂

I was scrolling through Pinterest for ideas for my own stand and recognized yours! How cool! Ours will be bright yellow in Limerick if you ever go this way
Tracie Tatro says
That’s awesome!! I do drive through Limerick! I’ll be on the look-out for it!

I raise worms and want to have a serve yourself worm farm. How do they prevent theft?

I love your pink egg stand! My husband is building me a new egg and produce stand and I want to paint it the same color pink as yours. Do you know what color and brand paint it is? I also love that your egg sign says they are free range and unwashed
Faith says
Do you have a link to your pattern for your egg stand?
