Last night The Girl Who Thinks She’s a Bird and I went to the Seattle Sheraton Hotel to view the 20th Annual Gingerbread Village. This is something we look forward to every year, and of course we snapped a ton of pictures. The proceeds benefit the JDRF Northwest Chapter.
We took so many pictures last night, there were just to many to put in one post. So I’ll be sharing our favorite entries over the next few days, because we think they each deserve their own space.
I simply cannot imagine the man hours it must have taken to build this gingerbread house.
The details are crazy awesome!
What do you think? Pretty amazing huh? My favorite part of the Alice in Wonderland gingerbread house was the White Rabbit, and The Girl loved the details in the Queen of Hearts.
Have you ever built {or know someone who has built} a gingerbread house on this scale? I’d really like to know how many people worked on this as well as how long it took them to make it.
Okay, Peace Out Girl Scouts, I’m off to go have some fun.
Have a great day,
~Mavis
My daughter’s favorite version of Alice in Wonderland* is the one with Johnny Deep. Amazon currently has it in stock and ready to ship if you are interested.

You should take the kids to see them. They were amazing.

There is a ginormous display in the big city north of us that supports a children’s hospital. Some of those things are huge, but I don’t know how many people work on each one. There are several on display.
My mom made us an entire village a couple years ago. I’m not sure it even fit on the 4’x8′ plywood they used to set it up. I think she did it herself, with a little help from my sister. Took her a long time.

Wow. Kudos to your Mother. I hope plenty of people saw all of her hard work. 🙂

We went over Thanksgiving. Our favorite was the Under the Sea gingerbread house with Ariel, Ursula, and Sebastien with his drums!! Loved it!
