Dreaming of fresh kale and crisp peas from your garden? Then you’ll want to hustle on over to the Annual Spring Seattle Tilth’s Edible Plant Sale on Saturday, March 12 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands {it’s a new location this year!}. Best part {aside from all the awesome plants at killer prices}? It’s FREE to get in! No admission is ever charged!
A big warning before you go, the sale features a delectable array of over 50,000 organically, sustainably and locally grown cool season veggie, herb, flower and fruit plants and to get the garden of your dreams growing.
The cool thing for locals is that all the plants are specially chosen by Seattle Tilth experts because they are well-adapted to thrive in our Pacific Northwest climate. So knowing that you’ll have tens of thousands of plants to choose from and they’ll all grow like mad in our area, I’d totally suggest buying up everything you can fit in your car {or buying a larger car! Ha!}. If you’re a gardener in the state of Washington, you need to check it out. The Seattle Tilth Plant Sale is one of the highlights of my year! Not only is their selection incredible, but the deals you can score are amazing. I always leave with a ton more than I intent to because there are just so many perfectly priced plants. If you want to avoid the lines, Gardens to Go can be ordered online in advance. These trays contain an assortment of plants that are pre-selected around different themes. Options include Summer Hits, Container Gardens, Organic Gardening 101 and Edible Plants for Kids. Swing by Meridian Park for a quick pick-up during the sale.
Volunteer sign-ups will be posted on their website soon. As a perk, volunteers are invited to the Early Bird Sale for free! You can Email Tom Beck for more information on volunteering.

It’s so true what they say: you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. Who knew you’d be thinking that way about a garden!

A little while back you put up a recipe for a honey mustard sauce that could be used for a salad dressing or a glaze on chicken. I loved the recipe but I’ve lost it and now I can’t find it on your site. Could you please give me the recipe again. Thank you so much for your time
