That Mrs. Hillbilly. She loves me. 🙂
Yesterday the HH noticed the mail truck was in our driveway. Which is pretty unusual since we’ve seemed to average only 1-2 pieces of mail a week since we moved in {1 being the weekly big box grocery store flyer, which is weird in itself because the store is like a 30 minutes away}.
Maybe the mail hasn’t caught up to us yet, or maybe advertisers don’t bother sending catalogs to people who live in the boonies, or who knows, maybe there are chupacabras that roam the shoreline in search of mail carriers and so mail is delivered sporadically, whatever.
The fact that we got a piece of mail, let alone a PACAKAGE is pretty exciting news these days.
72 ounces of my ALL TIME FAVORITE mint truffles. That’s 4.5 pounds of delicious, mouthwatering chocolate!!! Lucky me, lucky me, lucky me!
In this world of electronic communication, getting something in the mail from a friend is pretty much the best thing ever. Whether it’s a hand written letter, a card, a newspaper clipping or a care package. No matter how old you are, knowing that someone took the time to go out of their way to make you feel special, well, it’s like they’re there with you, giving you a little hug.
It made my day.
And it also reminded me that no matter how old we get, we all need to feel special every once in a while. 😉
Wishing you the best on this fine November day,
~Mavis

I thought my husband was the only one obsessed with chupacabras in the wilderness, LOL!

Close friends are the best! Had to look up chupacabras . How long ago did you move? I’m not sure you’ve ever said.

Those mint truffles are decadent! Mrs HB is a wonderful friend. I can’t wait to hear about any new adventures you two will have. She needs to visit you, once it’s safe to travel again.
Mavis, you are normally very disciplined, but I’m wondering if those truffles will last until Christmas. They wouldn’t at my house.

3 chocolates a day… with my afternoon tea. 🙂

Being from Western Washington I know the Dillettante Mints all to well. I stock up every October and give them as gifts in December. Our household rule is to not open a bag until December 1. Ohhh I can’t wait.
That Mrs. Hillbilly she is the best!

Such a blessing to have such a wonderful friendship. I’ve been blessed also. My BFF and I went to nursing school together. We have been friends 40 years. Many of those years we have lived in different states. Fortunately, she has been a neighbor of my parents for many years, so it makes it easier to visit.

I love hearing from Mrs HB, it’s great to get unexpected things in the mail.
I got an orchid from Amazon this week, who knew they did that? Wasn’t a card in it so I waited to see who. My sweet sister thought I needed cheering up a little.
It’s wonderful to have friends and family that reach out and touch, but I’m allergic to chocolate so a plant is great.
