Did you do any shopping at Albertsons this past week?
What do you think of the daily deals? Do you stop in just for those?
Christine says
Can you please explain Albertsons’ doublers?
Mavis says
Albertsons is a local grocery store, and about every two weeks or so there are Albertsons doubler coupons in the paper. You can double a manufacture coupons up to $1 and you can use 3 in 1 transaction. 🙂

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I am learning so much from your blog. We enjoyed the corn chowder recipe last week. Now, I am looking forward to growing a larger-scale vegetable garden in our small yard.
Mavis says
You can do it! 🙂

Glad to see you bought better cheese this time than those Kraft singles!
Helen in Meridian says
Yesterday was national cheese burger day. I used 3 slices of that Kraft plastic stuff on my cheese burgers, to use it up. Saving the Tillamook for later. My DH still adores his cheese burger.

I have not seen Tillamook here. Local cheese? This is Wisconsin, I love our
cheese. I know at the moment we have in the fridge chunks of Swiss, Co-jack,
Pepper Jack, Muenster, Cheddar, Parmesan, Romano, Feta, and Mozarella.
All are from local cheese factories. My (maternal) great grand parents came from
Switzerland and were cheesemakers. The rest of the relatives were dairy
farmers. Perfect match.

Wait – donating the tissues or the pasta to the food bank? Sounds like the tissues, and I’m thinking why? Don’t you have boogers like the rest of us? Ha!
I have all our family prescriptions at Walgreens. But just got a $25 gift card for transferring one to Albies and another for transferring one to Rosauer’s. $50 free. Was thinking about your little dilemma of getting the baking stuff in your budget for the rest of the year. Not sure if you have any of that action you can cash in on. But if you do…
Mavis says
For some reason I have a lot of tissue. Rite Aid 2011? I can’t remember.
LaToya says
LOL! It was Rite Aid 2011. Like January or February. They were $1 and get the $1 back. Hilarious. I have I don’t know, probably 100 of those crappy tissues and their crappy TP too. Those were the days when I loved Rite Aid. Now it’s a pain in the…
Mavis says
Seriously the crappiest stuff ever!
Helen in Meridian says
You both should ask Santa for the new Kleenex Cool. They are 3 ply and actually feel cold on your nose. Your snot will thank you.

Hi, I was wondering how you match coupons to the store sales so well. I would love to be better at this. I never know where to start-sales items first or coupons first. We don’t have an Albertson’s near us unfortunately or I would copy your shopping trips to a T 🙂
Mavis says
Hi Tina. What state do you live in and what grocery stores do you have? Let me know and I will try and direct you to a website that will have match-ups for you.
Elizabeth says
What do you have for match ups in Wisconsin?
Teresa Yb. says
You could use the tissues to solve your T.P. dilemma…
Desi says
I like that idea, they’re both tissue.

Got 2 tubs of Breyer’s Blast (banana split & waffle cone chocolatey chip) for 38 cents a pop. Love the waffle cone and was definitely worth getting up and going to the store on a lazy sunday morning in an otherwise so-so TTV deals week 🙂

I’m on the East Coast, so I don’t have the same grocery stores available to me, but i do have Target, Rite Aid and Walgreens. So I watch your posts regarding those stores faithfully. I took the plunge today and did my first “I’m gonna get something for free!” coupon shopping trip. As I just started saving coupons, I didn’t have quite all the ones saved that would have given me the absolute best deal, but I think I did pretty well. $106 of groceries/products (things we really use) for $25.53. That’s about 74% off!! Not bad considering I made one coupong math error and was completely terrified because I thought someone would yell at me for doing three transactions. Yay, coupons, and Yay, Mavis for getting me inspired!
Paula says
I didn’t know that Albertson’s ever doubled coupons. How did you find out about that?
Mavis says
The double coupons or “Twice the Value” Coupons come in the Sunday paper in the Northwest region about every other Sunday. 🙂
