This morning I was in Puyallup so I decided to swing by the Oroweat Bakery Outlet to see if I could use my last $10 Sharing Spree certificates I picked up over the summer. This deal is currently not available but I will totally let you know as soon as it is available again. You can count on it.
If you have never been to a bakery outlet before, you are seriously wasting your dough by paying full price for bread, rolls, pizza crusts, and a bunch of other crackalicious stuff.
As soon as I walk in I immediately head to the manager special section to see what items have been marked down to $1. The selection ALWAYS varies, but today these were some seriously awesome deals.
I was able to pick up
- {4} packages of Potato Rolls 24 count
- 3 loafs Whole Wheat Bread
- 1 loaf of White Bread {Gross, but it’s Monkey Boy’s Favorite}
- 2 Double Packages of Boboli Pizza Crust and Sauce {for a total of 4 crusts}
The total for all of this would have been $10 {I had a certificate so mine order was free}. Personally, I think $10 for all that bread is a stinkin’ hot deal. I’m not sure why more people don’t shop at bakery outlets more often.
Once I double bag the bread and toss it in the freezer, we should have enough to last us through the end of the year. Yee- Haw! I LOVE saving money!
Have you ever been to a bakery outlet before?
What is your favorite thing to buy there?

I love the outlet store, although in Bremerton they check your id, so the name on the coupon needs to read the same or they will not let you use it. I gave one to a co-worker to use and they wouldn’t let her. Bummer

My girlfriend hits a bakery outlet near us here in New England and swears by it. I have yet to get there but I think it is on my short list of things to do.

Tessa, where in New England? I work in Boston and live on the NH border, and I’d love to check it out if it’s near me at all.

We have a hostess and an aunt millie’s outlet near us. The Aunt Millie’s one has fabulous Super Saturday deals… we go every month or so and stash the extra (tons of extra) in our freezer till it is needed!

We have Entenmann’s, Schwebel’s and soon to be no more Hostess outlets. Love getting goodies for lunches but the deals on bread is fanfreakingtastic. Double bag, drop in the deep freeze and you have bread for at least 2 months. Love outlet stores for baked goods that I either don’t or can’t or refuse to make.

I can usually get a great deal at Aldi’s . When they run a red tag on buns or bread I buy 10 and freeze. The buns will red tag for a quarter, and so does the bread. I just giggle like a little school girl. Other than that we enjoy fresh baked bread.

I love, love, ,love Oroweat outlet!! We’ve been shopping there since we were married (almost 10 yrs. now) and haven’t stopped. 🙂 I too love these Sharing Spree deals. Hope they keep coming!! Where else can you get all types of bread/tortilla/pizza products for so cheap?!

I love the Franz outlet in Lacey…I only shop from the 5/$6 rack and grab a loaf off the free rack on the way out the door. Close to expiring (but not always) and high fructose corn syrup free and some organic and some 100% whole wheat!

I used to love bakery outlets. OK, I still love them, but now we make all our own bread products, thanks to a 50lb sack of Costco bread flour and a trusty little bread machine (and a husband who thinks playing with the bread machine is fun… which is awesome)! But shopping at the bread outlet is the next best and cheapest thing. I looove the way those stores smell. Mmm.

Our only outlet closed because of the Hostess Debacle as did the only commercial (resale) bakery here in town.
Saw the effect of it last night. Went to COSTCO, normally 2 loaves of the local white bread was $3.29. Now it’s a new brand Franz, and that’s $5.39 for 2 white loaves. And it shows up here from Seattle frozen to boot. Sigh.
I was sad.

You must be in AK too. I am hoping that the bakery sells to someone who will open it back up, because they made so much more than Hostess. Plus the only commercial bakery in the state! Now all the bread has to be shipped in – yuck! Bad enough that most of the fruits and veges are shipped in and have so little shelf life. Especially this time of year. Sigh. Time to start planning the garden and I better not quit making bread.

I go to the Oroweat outlet in Bellevue, WA with my Saving Spree $10 for $5 vouchers. The store gives a 10% discount to seniors (55+) and a 5% discount for purchasing 5 or more of the same of bread. Last week, I scored 6 loaves of my husband’s favorite white bread, 2 bags of 8 Costco-sized hot dog buns, 2 bags of BBQ sized hamburger buns, and 1 loaf of whole wheat bread for me. I had to kick in 35 cents, plus my voucher. Pretty sweet deal!
The hard part was fitting it into the freezer (lol)
Thanks, Mavis, for all the savings tips!

I love bakery outlets, and I would still go on a regular basis except that the only two in the town where I live closed a few years ago. 🙁

Unfortunately my father has turned me into a bread snob. It’s a cold day in hell before I use any other packaged bread besides Winco’s Cascade Farms 5 Seed Bread. Of course it’s the most expensive bread in their brand, but man it’s good.
