There are signs of spring everywhere here in Maine and I am loving it. Yesterday was so nice, the HH and I spent it mostly outdoors tidying up.
It’s hard to believe that in another 6 weeks or so it will be time to set the floating dock in the water and go kayaking with Lucy again.
A few things are beginning to show up in the garden, and around the property. Rhubarb for one! I think I’ll make a batch of cinnamon rhubarb jam this year.
The daffodils, chives and tulips are gaining some height too.
It’s still a little early for plant starts yet {freezing temps are still in the forecast for the next few days} but soon this area will be planted with all sorts of vegetable starts. Oh how I love this space when it’s full of garden goodness.
I found a few violas peeking through the leaf litter.
And the mint looks like it will have another abundant year.
The crocus are in bloom!
Note to self: Get out and tidy up those garden planters!!!
Luckily though I’ve still got a little time to get everything ready.
Apparently there is a big storm rolling in and on Thursday we are supposed to get 15 inches of snow. 15 inches!!! I don’t believe it. The weather reports around here are 50/50 at best… So we’ll see.
How’s the weather been at YOUR place? Still wacky? Or are you already getting your veggie starts in the ground? I’m hoping by the end of next week I’ll be able to get the peas, carrots and radish seeds in the ground.

I’m in southern Chester county, PA. It has rained the last 3 days. As Sharon said all over the place. No outside planting yet was near freezing last week overnight. Seeds finally started indoors this past weekend.

I am in the upstate area of South Carolina and we didn’t get any snow at all this year. We live in an area that gets a snowstorm once a year or so but nothing you can count on.
It will be warm enough to plant my starts soon. I have tomatoes, peppers, and some herbs started inside.

We are getting snow tonight too…. not 15 inches thankfully.

Willamette Valley of Oregon–after our area’s devastating ice storm in January, spring has been tranquil. Daffodils almost done, tulips and some fruit trees blooming, asparagus, rhubarb, peas and lettuce coming along in the garden. Gorgeous sunshine the last few days so mowing season has begun–the grass just doesn’t stop growing! But the green makes it all worth it!

SWFL here. The weather is between 70 to upper 80’s lately, then in the 50-60’s at night. It’s beautiful!!

Portland, Oregon burbs here. It’s going to be 72 and sunny today! It will drop back down into highs in the 50s and rain for a bit, but I’ll take it. It’s been a really mild winter and spring for the most part.

Sunny and 75 in Central Oregon today and 3-4” inches of snow coming on Thursday. Mud pies on the menu for the weekend 😉

Northern Nevada – definitely wacky. We had snow this weekend, Tuesday and Wednesday will be nice and then another storm potentially with snow. At least the snow pack in the Sierra Nevada mountains is average this year. We just planted bareroot berry plants outside that we bought at Costco about two months ago. They have been living in the garage until now.

Here in Wisconsin we’ve had about a total of 10″ of snow this whole winter. Two weeks ago we had 15″ dumped on us! It’s supposed to be spring! It sure beats the 97″ total from last winter season though.

We have had 80s here in Central Alabama. Tonight, the tornados happened south of us. We were expecting at least high winds. There has been no snow this year. Well, a bit sort of brushed the grass before the sun melted it. I have planters prepared for carrots. And, I need to get cayenne pepper plants. Critters like the squash and tomatoes, so I won’t fight them again.
