I use twine a lot around here for everything from gardening to cooking, but having a jumbled mess of the stuff makes me crazy. Even if you aren’t as OCD as I am, you’ll probably love this easy way to store your twine. With just a few simple supplies that you probably have lying around your house, your twine will be tangled no more. Hallelujah.
And once you make and love this little holder, you’ll want to make one for all of your friends. I hear a perfect little Christmas gift coming on! If you pair the twine holder with some bean or pea pole seeds, wrap it up cute and throw on some ribbon, you’ve got yourself a frugal gift for friends or neighbors.
- A spool of kitchen twine
- A small mason jar with lid {or if you have a big fat spool of twine, upgrade your mason jar}
- A hammer and nail
Directions:
Start by making a small hole off to one side of your mason jar lid. To do this, I used a hammer and a small nail. You can also use a drill with a skinny bit if you have one. You want the hole to be small, but big enough for the twine to easily fit through. If you have rough edges on the bottom of the lid after making your hole, just hammer or sand them down. Then simply thread the twine through, place the ball in the jar, screw the lid on tight and wallah! Easy peasy twine holder!
