Yesterday the HH made granola for the first time and let me tell you Bob, he did a FANTASTIC job! It was so good, I’m going to see if I can get him to make it at least once a month for us.
This 7 ingredient recipe is as simple as it gets. If you’re not a fan of raisins, simply make the recipe without them and enjoy the plain granola as is, or sprinkled over yogurt or ice cream. How ever you make it, be sure and try this recipe, it’s a winner!
Have a great day everyone,
~Mavis
Ingredients
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup canola oil
4 cups old fashioned oats or quick oats
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup raisins
Directions
Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
In a large bowl, stir together the oats, cinnamon and salt and set aside.
Combine the brown sugar, honey and oil in a small sauce pan over medium heat over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved {about 2 minutes}.
Pour the mixture over the oats and stir to combine. Spread the granola mixture onto a lined cookie sheet and bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour, stirring every fifteen minutes so the mixture does not burn. Cool to room temperature, add raisins and place granola goodness in an airtight container.
Yum.Yum.Yum.

Wow! Your timing is amazing! I just said to myself this morning, “I should make some granola.” Thanks for sharing, I am totally making this today.

This is quite different than my usual granola recipe, I’ll have to try it. It almost looks like grapenuts cereal. I recently saw you can make granola in the crockpot and have been meaning to try that as well. We also made large batches and freeze the extra so I don’t have to make it as often.

I use maple syrup instead of honey and brown sugar. It works really well and I cook at 300 for 35-40 minutes (if you want to finish faster). Eat it on top of my homemade yogurt with a sliced banana. Yum!

Timing! I just taught my 13 year old how to make my sister-in-laws ‘famous’ granola recipe. We added Chia Seeds, flax seed meal, wheat germ to the recipe.

This looks really good! I LOVE cinnamon though, so I’d probably use a tablespoon lol
