It’s been a L A Z Y week for me here on the coast of Maine and I haven’t gotten a whole lot done. 😉 And you know what? It has been kind of nice. The slow, hot and humid days of summer are here and while I know I can’t loaf around everyday, it has felt nice to take a week off from my usual routine of getting up around 5 am to cut wool, water the garden, plant/paint/make something and then go about my day.
On Monday morning, The Girl I went for a walk and it was still chilly enough to wear a coat. The last few days though, have been in the upper 80’s and I’ve been out there in shorts and a tank top watching the snail races and and looking for heart shaped rocks on the beach with Miss Lucy Puggle.
Slowing down can be a good thing every once in a while, and it’s something I need to remind myself to do more a little more often.
“Life isn’t long enough to do all you could accomplish. And what a privilege even to be alive. In spite of all the pollutions and horrors, how beautiful this world is. Supposing you only saw the stars once every year. Think what you would think. The wonder of it!”

Wishing you the best of weekends,

Love the pictures of Miss Lucy. One picture really IS worth a thousand words! And I loved the quote from Tasha Tudor—the perfect justification for my heat soaked, lazy, life in the slow lane day. THANK YOU!!!

Sea snails? Hermit crabs? Someone mentioned periwinkles? I’ve never seen such a thing on our Pacific beaches. What are they, really?
Richelle says
According to this article, they’re a type of sea snail known as periwinkles. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.seacoastonline.com/news/20160719/three-kinds-of-periwinkles-live-in-gulf-of-maine%3ftemplate=ampart
