It rained all day yesterday, it was wonderful. I put on my pj’s around 4pm and told the HH that as soon as our new couch arrives {in maybe another month!?} I am going to stay in my pj’s for an entire week and watch movies. And drink tea. And maybe bake a few things. I’ll probably work on a big rug too. 😉
I LOVE fall. It’s so cozy and somehow the cold and rainy days don’t seem to bother me this time of year. Maybe it’s because it feels like everything is winding down.
The leaves are starting to turn and pumpkins are beginning to appear on porches and pretty soon it will be time to bust out the puffy coats and oh won’t that be AWESOME. You know me, I do love a good puffy coat.
Slowing down. It’s magical. Don’t you agree?
Things still on my to-do list before the big pajama party can commence:
- Finish decorating for fall. {I should be finished by the weekend}
- Plant 2,000 spring bulbs {I hope they get here soon!}
- Help the HH finish the back deck.
- Buy another set of flannel pajamas {super soft ones are hard to find!}
Four things. That’s all that’s left on my list. How wild is that? I can’t believe it.
Do you love this time of year as much as I do? Do you feel like things are finally starting to wind down for you in the garden/outdoor project department too?
What else do YOU have left to do before you can pack away summer and get into comfort season mode? Curious minds want to know.
Have a great weekend everyone,
~Mavis

You know, I’ve bought all my flannel pajamas from Macy’s on 50%-off sales. Their Charter Club brand is very soft and has beautiful prints. They wear well for years and are on sale every year for a long time.

I was coming to say the same thing!

I live in the PNW and fall season seems to last forever. Primarily I need to finish harvesting grapes and prune them back. I do want to plant garlic for next year. And then leaf cleanup will begin and continue until Thanksgiving.

I live in SE Alaska which is very different than fall in New England where I grew up but I love it all. I love cozy cool overcast days but also the crisp cool sunny days (which are few and far between). The most stressful days for me are the full sun and hazy and humid days which thankfully we don’t have in SE Alaska! Happy Fall Y’all!

I am not a fan of winter, because I am in pain for much of it. So, fall is just a reminder of the ick to come! The exception are the lovely days we used to call “Indian summer” days. (Anyone know what they are called now?)
I was doing a happy dance yesterday, because I finished the Christmas ornaments for this year! 236 ornaments done! Now on to the gift of the year!

236 ornaments!!!! Well done Torry.

And the gift of the year is . . . .?

Fall is my Favorite! Where we live in Texas, winter is cold (and sometimes windy), spring is nice but very windy, and summer is hot, hot, hot (and also sometimes windy). So, the cool, crisp mornings with just a breeze are the BEST!
