Visiting Snug Harbor Farm in Kennebunk, Maine is truly an event. The greenhouses, heritage breed chickens and topiaries are my favorite things to visit when I go. The patina on all the pots is always a highlight for me as well.
A visit there is like a walk through a well established English garden. In fact his place reminds me of a mini Kew Gardens. If only they had a tea house where they served tea and scones!!
Yesterday I showed you inside Snug Harbor Farm, but today I wanted to show you around the greenhouses and outdoor garden spots that I loved so much.
I try to visit at least twice a year. Once in early summer to see all the new plants, and once during the wintertime on a sunny day so I can walk through the greenhouses for a bit of garden therapy while there’s still snow on the ground.
They have a greenhouse {or is it two?} dedicated to succulents. I LOVE succulents! Don’t you? They’re such low maintenance plants. I should try and grow more of them.
The place is pretty magical, don’t you think? It makes me want to get a greenhouse everytime I visit.

Enjoy the weekend everyone,

Beautiful place, but those prices! I have an aloe about that same size that also got too much sun, and there’s no way it’s worth $50. You can get a small one at the grocery store or a big box store for $5 and it’d be that big in a year or less. And $125 for that collection in a pot? That’s about $25-30 around here, and over-priced at that. I’m in Zone 5 outside of Chicago.

The place is beautiful. I want a greenhouse! Are those white, floofy birds real? What are they?

They’re pigeons. 🙂

Did you buy anything interesting?
I love the pots – and the mad curly doves/pigeons!
