Any Starbucks fans out there? I have to be, when you live near its birthplace, you are contractually bound by law to like Starbucks. My hands are tied.
Did you know that you can find out how many calories are in your favorite Starbucks drink? In some cases, you may not want to know, but you CAN find out, if you are so moved. I must admit, I am kind of fond of their Trenta Passion Fruit Iced Tea {sweetened, or course} and now that I know it only has 140 calories, I might treat myself a little more. Sure, I could make it at home, but sometimes, when I am running errands, it’s a little luxury that makes me smile. 🙂
Here’s a couple of popular drinks and their calories–if yours is one of those drinks that packs the caloric punch of a dessert, then I am sorry for potentially ruining your day:
- Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha – 520 calories
- Tazo Chai Fralppuccino Blended Creme {Grande} – 360 calories
- Black coffee {for the hardcore} – 0, zip, zilch calories
- Chai Tea Latte – 340 calories
- Hot Chocolate {grande} – 340 calories
- Starbucks Refreshers Strawberry Lemonade {1 can} – 90 Calories
- Vanilla Latte {Grande w/2%} – 250 calories
- Strawberry Smoothie {16 oz., 2% milk} – 300 calories
- Iced Coffee w/Milk {Grande w/2%} – 120 calories
Okay, now comes the part where I ruin your day. For comparison and depression purposes only:
- Twinkie – 120 calories
- McDonald’s French Fries {medium} – 330 calories
- Goldfish Crackers {300 of ’em} – 300 calories
- 3 eggs, scrambled, 2 slices of bacon – 290 calories
- Coca Cola {1 can} – 140 calories
It basically sucks how your morning cup of delicious can quickly turn into a caloric dumping ground on your thighs. Did you know some of these bad boys packed so many calories? I guess it’s time to forego our taste buds and drink black coffee and tea like the good ol’ days.

I used to work at Curves and had a lady complain that she had gained weight since she had started working out there and was blaming Curves for her weight gain. A few minutes later I overheard her telling someone else that she always stopped at DQ next door after her workouts to get a large Moolatte Ha! A 24 oz. Moolatte has 830 calories!!!!
Mavis Butterfield says
Ha! Ya, it might have something to do with the 830 calorie drink. 🙂

Ha! I knew a lady who was desperately trying to lose weight. She was counting calories, and doing low fat everything. Finally, out of desperation, she went to a nutritionist who was just as baffled, but she kept questioning the lady in more detail. She found out that the woman loved her coffee which she now proudly drank 12 times a day with non-fat International Delight. Over 500 extra calories a day in the sugar alone in the non-fat coffee creamer!
I’m safe at Starbucks. Either a tall nonfat latte, or an iced coffee with milk.

I treat myself to Starbucks maybe every other month or so. I pick whatever I want…and usually that drink is PACKED with calories. I’m talking venti white chocolate calories. It is super delicious and extra indulgent … and 100% guilt free. 🙂

I very rarely get Starbucks, so I don’t really worry about the calories (especially when it comes time for the free birthday drink!). I did notice on the menu that the frapps have more calories than iced espressos, so I’ve opted for an espresso the past couple times. As long as it’s iced and sweet, I’m happy!

Shot in the Dark – black coffee with a shot of espresso. Zero calories (or darn close), though I definitely have to balance these with my morning home brew pot that’s half decaf.

venti nonfat iced coffee with milk for me and if I’m feeling indulgent I add vanilla syrup…sometimes I get sugar free syrup. Depends on the location.
3.41 a purchase (in Vancouver BC) and I get free refills allllll day long! I only get em when I’m working long morning shifts that start prior to 8 am…LOL.
And I just won the Keurig Rivo House party, so I may have to stop that addiction and start making my own guilt free indulgences at home!!! SOOOOO EXCITED cant wait til it arrives next week!

The Starbucks around here list all the calories right up on their menu, and for all of their bakery treats too. I’m the kind of person who likes to know how many calories are in everything, so I really appreciate the fact that they’re right there in the open. I always get my drink with skim milk and no whipped cream, so that knocks off a bunch!
