I keep meaning to tell you about The Causeway At The Craignair Inn!
We met up there for Sunday brunch last month with our neighbors from our old neighborhood and loved the place so much, the HH and I are looking forward to going back this winter for a special date day.
The Causeway is a nice restaurant located on the bottom level of the Craignair Inn in Spruce Head, Maine. Not only is the place in a picturesque setting, but the food was over the top crazy good.
Eggs Benedict.
Chicken and waffles.
Some sort of fancy omelette.
The haddock sandwich.
And of course it’s not a proper Sunday brunch if you don’t have a little dessert, right? We split not only a lava cake…
But a creme brulee too. And both were delicious.
Good food, a good setting and good company. What more do you need?
The Craignair Inn and Restaurant, it’s just another reason to visit the great state of Maine. π
If you’re planning a trip to Mid-Coast Maine, be sure and put this place on your list. You’ll be so glad you did.

π Looks yummy! I admit that being in a Pennsylvania Dutch area, I laugh every time I see a different region’s version of chicken and waffles. Our style is chicken chunks in chicken gravy poured over the waffle, rather than syrup and fried chicken. Honestly, I think I’d prefer the Maine version!

I grew up in PA and now live in the south. I always think that fried chicken on a waffle with syrup is so wrong!!! PA Dutch style or none at all!

LOL! The first time I saw a piece of fried chicken on a waffle, I honestly thought they were joking. π
