A few weeks ago One Hundred Dollars a Month reader Laura shared her Trader Joe’s tomato and roasted red pepper soup recipe with me in the comment section {I made it, and it was fabulous!}. Then a week later, Tamera passed along her recipe for Trader Joe’s lentil bruschetta. And it too was another winner!
And well, here I am again with another easy Trader Joe’s recipe because last week Laura was back with another of her favorite recipes to try; Trader Joe’s salmon spread. Holy cannolis people, was it ever delicious!!
Here’s the comment Laura left me on a previous post:
One more TJ’s recipe for you that everyone loved: salmon dip. Blend together one container of Boursin non-dairy cheese {in the TJ dairy case} with a tin of TJ’s lightly smoked salmon, including all the oil in the tin.
You can then add what you want if you like: finely diced onion, chopped fresh dill, capers, etc. Super easy and super good, and great for bagels, crackers, baked potatoes, etc.
An easy appetizer that’s ready to share in less than 5 minutes. What’s not to love about that!?
Well done Laura!!!
Thanks for the recipe!
~Mavis
Side Note: I did opt to drain the olive oil from the tin.

Sounds delicious & easy. Thanks, Mavis and Laura! I’ll be giving it a try.

I’m so glad you liked this! It is easy, isn’t it?
I think you were smart to pour off the oil – while it’s needed with the dairy-free Boursin (too dry otherwise), I think it would be too much and too oily with the regular version of the cheese. Our favorite additions are fresh dill and some finely diced onion.

Gonna try next time I can get to Trader Joe’s – closest one is an hour away. Sounds yummy!

My favorite TJ’s sauce/condiment to make at home is a simple avocado verde sauce that is way more than the sum of its parts.
1 – whole ripe avocado
1 – 12oz jar Trader Joes Salsa Verde (white label)
Blend until smooth – stupid simple. Put it on everything. It keeps well refrigerated in a capped squeeze bottle.
