Okay, so if you don’t already have a knock your socks off turkey salad recipe, I want you to bookmark, pin or print this recipe out so you can use it the day after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving leftovers can be overwhelming sometimes, so when you open your fridge and there’s a bunch of turkey bits staring back at you, I want you to be prepared. 😉
This recipe for turkey salad, is HANDS DOWN the best I’ve ever had. And to be totally honest here, it’s not just the turkey salad that was fantastic, it was the cranberry apple spread I used on the toasted bread that made this sandwich out of this world.
If you didn’t make a batch of my cranberry apple jam last year when I told you about it, do it this year. Not only is it the perfect accompaniment to this turkey salad recipe, but the jam makes a wonderful hostess gift as well.
PrintTurkey Salad Recipe – PERFECT for Sandwiches!
Ingredients
3 cups leftover cooked turkey, shredded
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 green onions, chopped
1/3 cup walnuts, chopped
1/2 cup mayonnaise {Greek yogurt works well too}
1 garlic clove, minced
1/8 tsp paprika
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
In a large bowl combine the turkey, celery, onions and walnuts. Add in the remaining ingredients and stir until the turkey is well coated.
Chill salad four hours before serving to let all the flavors sink into the turkey. Serve turkey salad on a bed of lettuce or on toasted sandwich bread with a thick layer of cranberry apple jam.

Looks fantastic! Just to clarify – the ingredients call for 1/3 cup cranberry sauce, and the directions say to mix all remaining ingredients into the turkey, celery, onion, and walnuts. Do I stir in that 1/3 cup cranberry sauce, or is that the cran sauce that’s used as the spread. The Turkey salad itself doesn’t look like it has the cran in it, but maybe it’s just mixed in with other great stuff so the color is diluted?
