The Seattle Tilth is such a cool organization. They have been providing hands-on education in organic agriculture for 37 years. They believe that all people deserve access to healthy, nutritious food and that changing the way in which we grow, cook and eat food has the potential to transform people’s lives as well as the communities in which we live. Check out what classes and events they have coming up:
Grow More Food with Seattle Tilth
Spring is finally here! Now’s the time to dig in and grow a bountiful garden that will produce food all year. Get started with Organic Gardening 101 or think ahead to summer with Smart Garden Planning. Find out if chickens are right for you in All About Chickens or if you’re a goat person with their Raise City Goats class. You can also gain expertise in ecological design in their Permaculture Design Course with guest instructor Toby Hemenway, author of Gaia’s Garden.
Most classes are offered at one of two locations — at the Good Shepherd Center (GSC), 4649 Sunnyside Ave N, and Bradner Gardens Park (BGP), 1730 Bradner Pl S. Check out their calendar of classes or see the full list online.
