Last Monday I was able to pick up 2 gallons of milk & 2 packages of Nabisco Fig Newtons for $7.96. I was able to use a buy 1 gallon of milk and save $1.00 on Nabisco cookies coupon (I had 2 coupons) plus I used a double coupon on both… PLUS… get this… there was also some sort of catalina promotion running where if you bought 2 packages of Nabisco cookies you received a coupon for 1 FREE gallon of milk…
And here’s my FREE gallon of milk! And some beans… I heart green beans… $2.54
And because I’m a double coupon superstar… I was also able to pick up 6 more bottles of FREE salad dressing and 3 boxes of tic tacs for FREE… However the second round of green beans were $2.13.
I also decided to take the plunge and spend BIG BUCKS on trying out a new recipe… So I shelled out $6.68 a fancy ingredients…
And that’s it… that’s all I bought for groceries this week. 🙂
But then… are you ready for this>>> Mavis took her Father out to lunch for Fathers Days… yep… to Maggiano’s… yep… Do you have any idea how much it costs 6 people to eat lunch at Maggiano’s without looking like a tightwad? $168.96…Holy Cats Batman!
Now… Before you go and think I went off the deep end…I want you to know I had been saving up for this big purchase for some time… And boy was it worth it. Deep friend zucchini…
Spinach salad with gorgonzola cheese and pine nuts… spinach and chicken manicotti… and a few more platters of delicious food… We all sat here for two and a half hours eating…and eating… and eating a little more…
But… even though our bill came to $168.96… I was able to use a $100 eGift Card I earned through Swagbucks (C’mon… you didn’t really think I’d pay full price did you?) and another $10 off by subscribing to Maggiano’s email newsletter… so in the end I only had to shell out $58.96. Still… way over budget… but was thinking… with summer coming up… and all the garden goodness I’m growing in the backyard…plus my awesome stockpile of FREE food… we should be fine. I’ll just have to reduce my weekly grocery spending a bit until I can get back on track.
Total Spent This Week $78.27
Total Spent Year To Date $626.41
How about YOU? Any big splurges this week?
