I was able to pick up 9 bottles of Gain dish detergent for FREE…
I think I’ll set these aside for my Christmas 2011 Gift Baskets…
I heart “try me free” offers… I don’t even care what it is they want me to try… If I can make a little moolah off it… I’ll toss it in the cart.
I filled out the “Try Me Free” offer and dropped it in the mail…
I will receive a $4.99 rebate check (in 6-8 weeks) plus I earned $7 in Up Rewards…
So After I factored in my rebate (and the stamp)
$23.07 (weekly budget)
-5.38 Out of pocket
————————–
$17.69
+$4.55 ($4.99 rebate less .44 cent stamp)
—————————————–
I was left with $22.24 for the rest of the week
and $7 in Up Rewards to spend.
Sunday was another profitable shopping trip at Rite Aid…
After I took into account my rebates…
I paid .28 cents for the above…
And was left with $22 in Up Rewards
And left with $21.96 to spend for the rest of the week.
On another trip to Rite Aid on Monday I picked up milk and cookies
My total was $1.27 after I used $22 in Up Rewards…
I earned another $6 in Up Rewards to use on my next Rite Aid transaction.
Free Grapes from Fred Meyer thanks to the $2.00 cell fire credit I scored last week…
I was also able to apply $1.05 from my Fred Meyer Quarterly rebate as well…
Leaving me with .15 cents left on my rebate card.
FREE
$6.98
An unexpected and very last minute $46.51 trip to Costco drained my remaining $13.71 for this week plus…
Plus I had to empty Mr. Piggy’s belly of the $13.11 to help cover the overpriced food I picked up at Costco for Monkey Boy and The Handsome Husband to eat while The Girl and I jetted off to London for 4 days (1 1/2 days traveling * 2 1/2 days sight seeing).
But that still wasn’t enough…
$46.51 Costco
-$13.71 left in my weekly budget
-$13.11 Mr Piggy (from the previous weeks)
——————————————————-
$19.69 in the hole
So I “borrowed” $19.69 from this weeks budget (week #9) leaving me with $3.38 and $6 in Up Rewards for week #9. Since it’s Monday… and I only have 5 days to go… I should be fine. We have plenty of bread, veggies and I have Up Rewards I can use for milk… So I’ll manage.
Luckily it snowed…
And the Boys stayed home, slept in, and played video games while were gone…
What can I say… they had their dream vacation… and we had ours.
And if you are wondering…
Hey Mavis… what about all the food you bought/ate while on vacation?
Well… according to the original rules…
Food bought while on vacation does not count…
Because technically… the money comes from the “vacation fund”.
So there you have it.
That was week #8 of 52
What did you splurge on this week?

Mavis, how do you deal with stores (like Walmart!) that say that the coupon do not match because what you are trying to get is not pictured. It happened to me last year with the Gain detergent, I tried to explain to them that it is the WORDING not the PICTURE that count…..I had really good luck with some cashier at first but only that first time. it has happened to me again with other q, especially the Frigo Cheese one (I give them all to my friends now as it upset me so much to try to explain the word ‘ANY’ to them. Any ideas?

Walmart scares me so I pretty much try to avoid it. 🙂 Honestly, when it comes to coupons, I think it just depends on your cashier. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. I always like to tell them I have a lot of coupons and nicely ask if they would like to me to go to another line.
