Hello from Maine! Yesterday it snowed about 5 inches and they are predicting we’ll get another 7-9 inches this weekend. Yee-Haw! My theory is, if it’s going to be this cold, there needs to be snow. And well, now we have a decent amount of snow!! 🙂 I love it. The HH, not so much.
Says he wants to go to Spain and stay there until spring. HA HA HA… That’s not going to happen. But a guy can dream, right?
In other news, I’ve already decided on what I’m going to focus on this weekend. Number one being watching the entire 10th {and last} season of Doc Martin.
Number two, finishing hooking the whale section on the giant rug I’ve been working on. My goal is to finish the entire piece by the end of the month.
I feel like once I get the whale hooked, it will be smooth sailing the rest of the way. Who knows, I may even get it done a little early.
And last but not least, paint something! I’m not sure if it will be a closet or the downstairs bathroom but it will be something.
How about YOU? Do you have any snow where YOU are? What are YOUR weekend plans? Do tell.
Have a great weekend everyone,
~Mavis

And, our weather in the north Georgia mountains, has been in the 70’s. It’s too soon for that! A few weeks ago we had snow and now this! It’s insane!
My weekend will consist of playing with my grandchildren! I’m sure I’ll need a nap after that.

You are adorable in the snowsuit! Are those zippers on the front of the legs?
Your weekend sounds absolutely fabulous. I’m assuming some hot meals in there as well. Maybe pickety bits for the Superbowl?
Mavis Butterfield says
Yes! Plenty of room for storing snacks while playing in the snow. 🙂

I love it when the snow first falls, and it’s white, clean, and fresh. The worst is when it has melted or partially melted, snow banks are black in the mall parking lots, and puddles and mud everywhere. Enjoy the shoveling! When I was young and growing up in the Adirondacks, my dad’s favorite saying was “yup, there goes 24 inches of partly-cloudy”. We would get 2 feet at a time and the banks at the end of the driveway were nearly 2 stories high from town plows. I can’t wait til the whale is finished. Will that be available as a pattern-only, or kit? Sue

Finished, Kit and Pattern. 🙂

No snow, but at least it is snowing in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
My plans are hopeful some sewing, going to church and listening to the Super Bowl while working on a project.

Love the whale rug! What rug hooking frame do you use to hook a rug that big? I’m working on a big rug right now and going crazy trying to manipulate it on my frame which is about 18 x 24 or so.

I have the big ones 15×25 and 24×24 from BeeCreek. They swivel so they’re easy to work with.
Ann says
Thanks! I’ll check those out. 🙂

Where I live, we call that french toast weather. Everyone runs to the store for bread, milk and eggs.

That is very funny. I might use that expression in the future!!! Lolol

I escaped between the Thursday storm and the one on the way for Saturday/Sunday. Arrived Friday to my favorite Caribbean warm spot. Back to southern Maine/NH in the Spring. I am good with shorts, T shirts and sandals for now.
