Things are moving right along with the downstairs bathroom “refresh”.
Yesterday I was able to get the first coat of paint on 3 of the 5 walls. Today I’ll get the second coat of paint on.
My plan tomorrow will be to start early and paint the two walls with all the mechanical stuff on it. 1 coat early in the morning and another coat later in the day.
Then it will be up to the HH to install all the fixtures, shelving, new radiator cover, mirror and artwork.
When we went to the Home Depot the first time the guy there said they didn’t sell radiator cover parts {which I thought was odd}, so we took his word for it and decided to order them online.
Then, while I was putting the items in our “cart” I discovered that they did in fact sell them at Home Depot {the guy was wrong!} and the website even told us what aisle they were on and the section too!
So rather than order them online and chance them getting damaged in shipment, the HH went back to the Home Depot and picked them up. They were the exact same covers as the ones before {minus all the rust} and in the end, replacing them was only about $50.
Before he can put the new covers on though I’ll need to vacuum out get all the construction dust out of the element first.
These are the new light fixtures I picked out for the bathroom. Maybe they’re kind of boring, but at least they have a classic, clean look about them.
And this is the mirror I found at Home Goods.
We still haven’t picked out a new pedestal sink yet, but we did see a few at the Home Depot that we thought might work.
If all goes well, I’m hoping that by this time week {KNOCK ON WOOD} the downstairs bathroom will be finished. And then we can move on to the next one. 🙂
Winter projects… They’re my favorite. And it will feel so good to be able to check this one off the list!
What are YOUR plans for this weekend? Do you have anything exciting planned? Curious minds want to know.
Have a great weekend everyone,

I love the lighting and mirror choice. Very classic. Those sorts of fixtures never go out of style and it’s so easy to change the look of the bathroom with textiles and wall art. Can’t wait to see the finished product!

I like both the light and mirror. You can’t go wrong with classic, clean lines. I look forward to seeing the finished project.
I have three sliding cabinet organizers I bought and have yet to put to use so with a 3-day snowy weekend coming up I’m hoping to get them installed. Or, maybe I’ll binge-watch something on Netflix instead. My motivation is lacking lately.

That mirror doesn’t look centered to me, but maybe it’s hanging on the old nail from the previous mirror. Non-Centered things are my pet peeve, so forgive me.

Looks centered to me but I think the sink is off-center. I like the lamps!!

Can’t say that I have ever painted while wearing a parka!
Weekend plan: recover from houseguests, bake muffins, dinner with friends.

That was the first thing I noticed and wondered if they have the heat turned off in that room 🙂 I hope it’s an old jacket or that the paint comes off easily. It’s interesting what catches our eye…

I didn’t comment a while back when you got so many good suggestions regarding this bathroom. Our house was built in 1941 and the bathroom sink was attached to the wall as is yours. We replaced it with a pedestal sink and a few years later took it out and put the old sink back. It is so much easier to sweep and mop under the sink and visually it takes up much less space. I know whatever you do will look great; you have a good eye when it comes to design.

Are you going to have someplace for storage in that bathroom? Everything you’ve done looks great!

I think the light is perfect. It reminds me of a lighthouse which is so approriate for your area.

Have you thought about getting a corner sink?
