Grapes $0.99 a pound, Gala Apples, $0.99 and Broccoli $0.99.
Fred Meyer $7.76
Milk $0.99, grapes $0.99 a pound.
QFC $6.20
Malt o Meal cereal is on sale at QFC {thru Tuesday night} for $1.99 a bag when you buy 5 bags. Coupons.com had
$0.75/1 Malt o Meal cereal and $1.50/2 Malt o Meal cereal printable coupons {I used zip code 77477} which brought the price down to just $1.24 for each bag. The bags I bought ranged in size from 19 -23.5 ounces each.
To put size into perspective, most boxes of cereal these days are between 9-14 ounces and the big boxes of cereal at Costco are between 40-60 ounces. When you break it down, paying $6.20 for 110.5 ounces of cereal is a great deal.
I don’t normally buy sugary cereal, but it’s kind of fun to be able to treat Monkey Boy to the stuff every once in a while.
Albertsons $4.34
Tree Top Apple Cider and Juice was on sale this week for $0.99 each with the in ad coupon and Bob’s Red Mill products were 40% off. I saved an additional $1.00 off each package with the printable Bob’s Red Mill Product coupons.
Haggen $7.49
Haggen Foods took over the old Safeway that’s across from the public library. So while I was there picking up books this week I walked over and grabbed 10 Yami yogurts for $4. This is the yogurt of my childhood. I grew up on this stuff. Total #happiness I also snagged a big tub of Greek Gods yogurt for the HH.
And now for a few of the meals, side dishes and sweets we made this week:
A Lighter Version of General Tso’s Chicken
Chicken, a few potstickers I found in the freezer and fried rice. {Yes, we like stir fry a lot!} 😉
Super Moist Chocolate Zucchini Cake {recipe coming later this week!}
Grilled veggies.
4 dozen chocolate chips cookies that look like wrinkly old men.
I also tried a new blueberry coffee cake recipe {it was delicious!} and a new curry rice recipe {that failed}. After cleaning out the freezer last week I also pulled a lasagna with meat sauce from my freezer meal stash.
Remember The Boy who brought The Girl flowers? Well he came over to hang out and ended up staying for dinner last night.
The Boy and The Girl made a turkey dinner complete with roasted corn, mashed potatoes and homemade biscuits. It was cute. And they even washed the dishes together afterwards.
How did you do this past week? Did you try any new recipes?

I let my dog do the first cleaning of the dishes too but it grosses a lot of people out so I only do it when I don’t have guests.

I tried one of your recipes! I made a double batch of your zucchini cupcakes with cream cheese frosting that you posted back in July 2012. The kids devoured them. Looking forward to your chocolate zucchini cake recipe. I have 3 more zucchinis in the fridge.

Smart to know when to day ‘Uncle’! Even though you spend way less that I do on groceries, I hope you make up for some of the Costco cost as the year goes on. 🙂
