Amazon prices can change super quick, so when I find a good subscribe and save deal on something, I add the item to my subscribe and save order for the following month. I like the flexibility of being able to add items to my list as well as being able to delete them before a shipment goes out. Sometimes I order toiletry products, sometimes food, but if I can’t find at least 5 items to get the additional 15% off discount then I’ll usually just delete the order.
Costco $15.98
I know it’s totally cheaper per ounce to buy the {3} 1lb containers of guacamole and freeze them, but once they are thawed, a certain teenage boy will walk off with an entire ONE POUND tub of avocado goodness and then, well, there goes taco night without the most important ingredient. Guacamole.
So this time around I bought the 12-pack of mini containers and hid them in the freezer {he doesn’t look in there}.
Fred Meyer $6.75
Fred Meyer had 1/2 gallons of milk on sale for $0.99 last week and I found a 2 lb bag of organic carrots for $0.99. The vanilla bean yogurt is for a recipe I’ll be making tonight. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Albertsons $11.82
I had planned on making salsa last week {that’s what I needed the jalapenos, cilantro and garlic for} but ended up canning tomato sauce instead. No worries though, I’ll make salsa with this weeks batch of toms.
Free eggs from the Hillbillies.
East coast squash and onions. Yee-Haw!
The Boy. He dropped off some empty jam jars and a loaf of homemade banana bread. He said it was the very first thing he has ever baked on his own. And… it was good. 🙂
Cookies for monkeys that live here.
I made a pot roast on friday night and used the leftovers the next night.
I think hard taco shells are incredibly overrated. I mean who needs taco shells when you can layer a fiesta of goodness on your plate? Am I right?
And last but not least, I canned 8 quarts of tomato sauce. {I’m, hoping to get 24 quarts canned this year}.
How did you do this week?

Happy Anniversary!! Your gift? I’d say your HH either got you two Steve Solomon Gardening books: Growing Vegetables West of the Cascades and the Intelligent Gardener, a new burlap collar for Lucy, or a garden stepping stone with an engraved poem he wrote to you pledging his undying love for you? How about a book on kale recipes for the non-kale lover? A huge bear hug and a cup of tea in the evening? A shovel? What, what, what?????? Curious minds want to know. 🙂

I hope she divulges too! Personally, I’m rooting for the garden stone engraved with a love poem.

Mavis, of course my comments were in jest! 🙂

Let’s hope he didn’t shop at Fred Meyer this year, unless it was for those nice earrings he wanted you to wear. One of my gifts was 5 years of Air Ambulance, just in case. DH is also talking about a year supply of freeze dried survival foods, but he hasn’t bought that one yet.

I’m totally on board with that shell-less taco! 🙂

Hi Mavis,
Just wondering how you ever have time to do the swagbucks thing. For me it is very time consuming. Any tips?
