Fred Meyer $6.46
I popped into Fred Meyer to pick up some freebie candies and milk for $0.99 a half gallon. Fred Meyer seems to have a sale on their milk every 2 weeks so I try and buy enough to last that long so I don’t have to pay full price. Sometimes 4 half gallons is enough, and sometimes I need 5. {Fingers crossed I can make it to next Sunday because I REALLY don’t want to be anywhere near a grocery store this week with all the Thanksgiving madness going on}.
Fred Meyer had stalks of Brussels sprouts on sale for $2.50 a piece. I wasn’t sure if this was a good deal or not. In years past I’ve seen Brussels sprouts sold for $1.99 a pound in the produce section so I took my chances and bought a stalk.
Boy was I surprised to find out there was 2 pounds 5 ounces of Brussels sprouts on my stalk.
I roasted a few with butternut squash, garden fresh potatoes and onions for dinner one night and served up the yummy veggies with sliced ham.
The next night I made a ham and broccoli casserole using this recipe {but without the tuna}. We cooked a Zaycon ham the week prior and would you believe we are still working on it?
The HH keeps requesting ham and eggs with fried potatoes for his Sunday breakfast in bed meal, and so I keep making it for him.
6 mini crocks of tapioca pudding.
Peanut butter cookies for the boys. Okay, maybe I ate a 2 dozen few.
We enjoyed Sweet and sour meatballs two days in a row.
As well as a freezer meal lasagna with goat cheese. {Am I the only one who LOVES cold lasagna?}
Yesterday we enjoyed sampling a few Thanksgiving side dishes {more on that later}.
Harbor Greens Market $6.01
I also picked up 2 pounds of deli sliced black forest ham at our local produce market at $2.99 a pound. It was the morning after a big storm came through town and as a result of the storm, the store’s phone/internet was down. The cashier said the only option was to pay with cash {I didn’t have any on me}, or to just pay the next time I came back.
How’s that for small town values? I hope everyone pays up!
How did you do this week? Did you find any good deals?
