I had to move the Eglu and the hens under cover so they wouldn’t become baked chicken in the 100 degree heat.
I thought about putting down a tarp for an easier clean up but I was afraid the hens would eat it, so I just laid down a big batch of straw for them and hosed it down with water.
Did you know chickens LOVE cottage cheese? Me neither until I read about it in my fancy chicken book. These ladies are spoiled. Later this afternoon I plan on giving them strawberries.
Up here in Seattle the weather for the next few days is suppose to be around 100 degrees. No joke. I can’t imagine what it must be like to live in the south. No thanks. I’d rather have the rain 9 months out of the year.
