Attention neighbors… This is your one and only warning… Zucchini season has officially begun. If you know what’s good for you…Lock.Your.Doors. Do not slow down when I wave as you drive by my house… Got caller id? Better check it before you pick up the phone… 🙂
In other earth shattering news… The radish seeds I planted last week are coming along nicely… I’m going to have to weed them though… I always hate that part… I feel bad for the seedlings that get yanked… I hope they don’t take it personally…
I think one of my favorite things to grow in the raised garden beds is green beans. And by the looks of it… It won’t be long until they’re ready…
Also, I’ve been tempted to dig up a few potatoes… But I haven’t yet. It sorta feels like cheating… After all I want as much poundage as I can possible get out of my volunteer potato field… Not that I’m weighing anything this year… but still.
However tonight… tonight I’ll be serving stir fry for dinner… The main ingredient? Snow Peas!
How about YOU? What’s for dinner at your house tonight?

Dinner will be something with zucchini 🙂 I feel the same way about thinning the garden, I hate playing favorites. I put my little radish seedlings in a green salad so I don’t hurt their little feelings…

Mavis…everything is doing so well! I just checked my bush beans yesterday and there are TONS of them! I’m so excited about that..thinking I need to plant another crop…ya know…my attempt at succession planting. 😉 I am jealous of the zucchini…I only got one regular zucchini plant..an 8 ball that is really struggling along…and a Blu Hubbard to try something new. It’s doing great…but I have no idea what to DO with BH squash!!

I made a pie with blue hubbard squash. Just follow the same recipe as pumpkin pie 🙂

For all that zucchini and Jello Pudding boxes we get from Walgreens.
We never thinned out radishes, just let em grow and then weed them out by putting the smaller ones in salads and whatnot. Maybe we didnt plant them as close as we should have? I dont know but it worked. LOL

We joke about locking the car at church during zucchini season. Unless you want a giant bag of them waiting on the back seat after service!
