That is a beauty! We are waiting patiently for our tomatoes to ripen!!! We have harvested some broccoli, cauliflower, herbs, kale and lettuce but we can’t wait to taste a sweet ripe tomato from the greenhouse! Nothing better!!! Kelly in Wasilla!

I live in Zone 6. Got my first cherry tomatoes June 9, and my first large tomato around June 27. I am so proud of myself, and so grateful that we, as gardeners, do so little compared to what we get in return.

Since I have had foot surgery my little garden has been somewhat neglected with the exception of my sweet HH (yes, I have one too) trying to keep everything supplied with water in this 100 degree heat. However, I was never so proud that my little black cherry tomato plant (grown from seed) has produced approximately 10 tomatoes. I know that’s not much to some of you but I probably started over 10 times with new seedlings. I have harvested Swiss chard, lettuce (lots), tomatoes, mint, parsley and the bush beans, squash and peppers are still in not producing mode. I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge. God help us if we had to live off the land. I fear we would starve. . Mavis, it kills me when I see you wearing a jacket or talking about 65 degree days.

No. But I use Tagro compost in my pots and that helps.
