Quote of the Day “Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.” ~ Marcus Aurelius
Hello Tuesday! Things are getting downright chilly around here. Luckily though, the heat from the wood stove is doing a nice job of finding its way upstairs and it’s still about 60 degrees up there at night. We still need to get the storm windows on, buy a snow rake, ice melt for the walkways and find some sort of down hat with cozy ear flaps, but other than that, I think we’re ready for winter!!! AND SNOW {my favorite!}. My friend Heather thinks I am totally delusional though and that the novelty will wear off. Ha!
I guess we’ll find out, right?
Have an AWESOME day everyone, and stay warm.
♥ Mavis

We moved from Texas to the mountains in Colorado 19 years ago. All my friends and relatives said I would get tired of snow, but I still haven’t. I love it.
Kay Roberts says
My favorite winter activity is a sitting in a rick8ng chair in front of a crackling wood shove wrapped in a quilt with a good book.
Kay says
Did not check my spelling…sorry
Tracey Morris says
On cold Fall days I like to crochet by the fire and watch movies
Laura Wiebe says
This will be my first winter with a baby. Before it was reading… now, I’m not sure. Creating obstacle courses to crawl through?
Jennifer says
Nothing. I like to do absolutely nothing. Stay in my jams, curl up on the couch with the pup under a cozy blanket and do nothing!!!
Sherry in Sumner says
When it’s cold and rainy outside — or even better, snowy — I get the cooking bug for some good old comfort food. Most often I get out my big soup pot and make my and my husband’s favorite, beef stew. It takes most of the day by the time it’s simmered enough to get that meat fork tender, but boy oh boy it is delicious!
Polli says
When its too cold and rainy outside here in Vermont, I often organize my desk and do some trip planning. Or reading by our fire side!
I hate these days but I make the most of them! Thanks for the give away.
Lisa says
I like to knit while wrapped up in an afghan. I only want to get up to put wood in the stove. We are expecting 6-10 inches of snow tomorrow. My tires are studded, the shovels are out, the tractor is almost ready and my pile of wood is in the basement and just pulled out the kids boots, jackets, hats. To be honest though summer is my favorite.
Tammy Cianciulli says
AH… Winter activities in Texas, those would definitely digging down deep in the drawers to find ONE pair of shorts not packed away because it’s all of a sudden 85 degrees??? HAHA, not joking. We do love our warm made-with-love crocheted blankies, cats and dogs share those too! and a great old movie and popcorn with the weather turns cold, aka 60 degrees 🙂
Shelley Briley says
When it’s cold and wet outside I like to grind up fresh whole wheat flour and make bread. We love homemade bread and jam I made during the summer.
I live in Maine and I love the snow too. Especially, if I don’t need to drive in it right away. It’s so clean and peaceful.
Dana Shouse says
I like to sit in front of the fireplace and spin yarn with my spinning wheel.
Dawn Hixon says
I love to build a nice fire, sit in my cozy, comfy clothes and read a good book!
Lynda Silveira says
I am not crafty, but love playing in my kitchen on wet, cold days. Then I like to share the baked goods with my neighbors. Last week was sweet potato bread, Apple butter muffins, snickerdoodle bar cookies.
Katie Wayland says
I love to pop in a good or even not so good movie and knit! I just started to learn crochet too. I just love yarn! It made me happy to read that you like the snow–I love snow as well, Mavis. I get super excited when it snows and it never gets old to me!
Judy Ngy says
On cold fall days I like to crochet while I binge watch Netflix seasonal shows.
Baking is something else I do when it’s cold outside.
